That's pretty much an automatic 10 in my book. Elden Ring is a good second spot for me. Dark Souls 3 and Demon's Souls Remake are close behind there. Dark Souls 1 has some roughness. Dodging is only 4 directional. The character moves slowly, or at least feels like it does. I like Anor Londo fine. But I hate the New Londo Ruins. |
yeah, my rankings are:
9.8 - Bloodborne
9.7 - Elden Ring
9.6 - Dark Souls III
9.5 - Dark Souls/Remastered
9.5 - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
9.4 - Demon's Souls Remake
All are great but I definitely think Bloodborne, Elden Ring, and Dark Souls III are the best. Demon's Souls has some real problems in terms of world and character tendency but the remake fixed a lot of its problems. Dark Souls II sucks and I'll fight with anyone who disagrees (Feels like a fan-made game where the devs heard that Dark Souls was challenging and cryptic but didn't know why the game resonated and they didn't know balance/fairness). Sekiro would be up there with DSIII if there was any sort of coop; one of the best parts of Souls games is returning to them to play with friends. As such, Sekiro loses some nostalgia.
All in all, probably one of my all-time favourite franchises/series/sets. Final Fantasy is up there, too.
