I'd save Ellie because not even Marlene shows confidence if the procedures done on her would be effective judging by the failed previous attempts. I had a feeling Ellie's sacrifice would've been in vain.

Save Ellie and hope she doesn't end up a lesbian. Growing up and becoming an adult, understanding how important she is, would probably be enough that even if she wasn't into dudes, she may be willing to 'do the deed' to procreate. Maybe if they were lucky they could find someone who could do in vitro fertilization? Either way I think trying to have a bunch of children and then doing whatever testing was necessary once they were old enough, to see if they were immune or not, would be the better way to go initially. If that didn't work, then Ellie could always decide to go all in and sacrifice herself at that point when the potential options have eventually run out.

It’s not a simple question of saving Ellie vs. everyone else (in which case I would most likely concede that she is worth the sacrifice).

The successful creation of the vaccine was in question. Then the likelihood of unbiased distribution. Then the benefit of immunising everyone is doubtful, given the number/percentage of zombies created (who are deadly without infection). Then whether there was humanity left enough to save?

Given the circumstances, Ellie living on as a decent human being is a bigger contribution to the survival of our humanity. 

In that position, I think I would have chosen the vaccine, but I understand why Joel chose to save Ellie and won't fault him for it.

Thing is, ellie saved joel life 3 times in the game, kinda ridiculously overdone , but i guess that what makes joel love her cause she cares about him so much, that she risks her life for him many times, plus the bond they formed together, and him losing his daughter. what the fireflies did was wrong though they should told ellie first and make her deicde, and if that didn't work then they could force her as the second option.

So I'd save Ellie any day, she is NOT responsible for what happens to mankind, it's NOT her job or destiny to die to save others. Killing her would be murdering a healthy human.

It's not your call to sacrifice a human even if it's to save others. Ellie is healthy and sacrificing her as you put it is murdering her. I guess we all have our opinions but let me tell you that yours is horrible... If happening in reality of course. But the way you and others seriously answer this question makes me think you mean this, should a similar situation happen in real life.

If you need to spill blood of the innocent to allow others to live, that voids any kind of decency those people could have. I would HATE to know that someone, especially a child had to be sacrificed so I could live. It is so fundamentally wrong that I staunchly reject such a notion.

Same here. In fact I didn't even think of the fact that I could have just grabbed her and left until a few weeks later. I went in with the shot gun, and blew everyone away in a blind rage, and that is one of the reasons I love this game. I very rarely have any emotion in Movies or games, and this one got to me.

No doubt about it, I would choose to save Ellie over the rest of humanity.
