    Even on the SNES using such limited hardware in an amazing new way Nintendo managed to not only bring the Mario Characters to life in a fake 3d world.... but also keep them alive as the Mario characters and give them personality.

    So much attention to detail. They squeezed everything possible out of the hardware.

    3 and a half megahertz of processing power and they managed to even take the time to add a wink though... games today have literally billions of times that processing power and can't stop characters from having their face implode or fall through their world at 15fps.
