Forums - Nintendo - Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Launches Switch on August 29.

Well, the gameplay demonstration catapulted the game from meh to might buy. This looks pretty good, I'm excited to see more.

That was a beautiful moment, you can see on his face how proud and grateful he is feeling.

That moment where they showed the producer and how emotional he was, was extremely touching.
Keep in mind, it's not just any other crossover with any other random franchise in gaming, it's a crossover with MARIO!!
We often forget this because we're so used to seeing him along with all the other franchises and games we're accustomed to as gamers, but Mario IS video games for the mainstream public. He's Mickey Mouse.
Some of these developers who are in their 30s-40s working on this game most likely grew up with an NES, SNES, or N64 playing games like Mario 1, Mario 3, Mario World, and Mario 64 and it was games like that which inspired them to chase their dreams of becoming video game developers in the first place. (Remember that montage they did just before the conference started.) So to be able to work on a video game involving one of, if not THE, character responsible for their love and passion for gaming and to get THAT kind of praise from the man who created him means everything in the world to these guys.

Never really cared for Rabbids, but I have to admit this does looks quite good. The gameplay certainly has a lot of potential.

this looks fantastic.

Anyone else see a lot of people mentioning Codename S.T.E.A.M when they talk about this game? I'm seeing people do that now....

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Looks very nice and it seems to have strategy elements in the battles, which is amazing.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

level design looks simplistic. need more footage of battle too

Yeah, what we've seen so far looks a long ways from the quality of XCOM or Disgaea.  Hopefully that's only because they're showing early or tutorial levels.  The levels themselves need to be a lot more interesting and dynamic and, of course, there needs to be a lot more weapons/skills/abilities.  I'm guessing there will be many more Disgaea type things like throwing teammates.

If you haven't watched it, I recomend the actual presentantion, shows more gameplay stuff (from minute 9:00 onward)

OT: I love XCOM so I will definitely take a look at this. Sad that it's the rabbids, would have prefer Rayman instead.

The game's producer got pretty emotional when he was acknowledged during the event. I do think for what its worth, this team is taking the project pretty seriously.

Beyond going WTF and being insanely surprised during the gameplay reveal this was by far my favorite moment. So touching and great moment. You could see he was doing his best to hold back his tears.

But WOW, wtf. In another thread I put this game as my most excited in Ubisoft conference. That was most excited as in more intrigued and wondering wtf this will be like. I figured no matter what they showed there was no way I woudl get the game. But damn, after watchign this it is 100% fact I will be getting this. Not gonna say Day 1 or anything, cause who knows what I'm doing around this time or day 1. But come Aug 29th, the first incling I get ot play a video game I will be buying this and downloading it. So could be day 1, day 2, week 1 or sometime later. But it is a fure sure buy.

Also insanely surprised they said they been working on this for 3 years. Great secret keeping. I mean what did we get like a blury leaked image a week before E3.
