But the difference between the Scorpio's power and the Pro is far less than the difference between the Pro and the Xbox One S, so...wouldn't Pro be in a different league than the S? 

Also, and this point isn't to you Versus, MS and Sony's messaging have been very similar to one another on messaging over the Pro and the Scorpio. Neither has exclusives, neither negates the old consoles, they are both "simply" more powerful iterations of their respective platforms, meaning that the guy's point is invalid either way.

While I do agree that that is often the case, the thing is that IGN (as far as I know) is still the worlds biggest gaming website (based on views and revenue it generates). I doubt that it would be a huge thing to ask to actually create content with people who actually have a fairly decent idea about where the industry stands and what are your average technical specs when it comes to gaming hardware. This is not a whole lot to ask, considering that your daily forum dweller will recite them in his/her sleep.

Subjectivity and taste  is a totally different thing altogether (and every news caster might have his), but in the context the guy is speaking is ignorant at best and seriously missinforming at worst. If they consider themselves a serious and professional game news outlet, they should act as one. Just my 2 cents.

Scorpio can handle high end VR and real 4k gaming. PS4 Pro is not quite the 4k ready machine it's peg to be. 

It can literally do nothing of that as of this point.....
