Yep, the only conclusion is that people must hate MicroSoft /s.

Quit playing the hate card.

A bit of context would of been nice which some people are trying to apply.

The problem is that with this Statement it seems that Telltale is telling that Windows Store is better than Steam to sell PC Games while 100% of Steam Users play games not  even half of Windows 10 users use it to play games, and if they use they will chose to Install Steam instead because the Library is much bigger and their Exclusives are top quality, Portal, Half-life, Dota, Left 4 Dead.

They can port some games for consoles but  Steam don't have any reason to port those games for the Windows Store, and Microsoft's biggest appeal on the PC Market that is Minecraft, already is on Steam, people will use Windows Store to purchase Xbox One's games and will use Steam to purchase the majority of the other games.

Is like saying that Potential sales are better than Concrete sales.

No, the statement is that they can reach first time gamers and casual gamers with it, not that it is better than Steam.

That doesn't mean that they expect more sales on Windows Store, that doesn't mean that Windows Store is better and that does also not mean that "true" gamers aren't already on Steam so that these people wil buy it on Windows Store (even if some will, if you can maybe play that version on your PC and your XBO and maybe even Phone in the future)

Either Telltale didn't think that statement through, or they're being deliberately misleading.

That's like saying a department store is a better place to sell furniture than a furniture store because more people go into the department store. They're ignoring the fact that most of those people are there to buy cheap jeans and bananas.

No. You and all other just dont get the statement.

Its totally fine and correct.

What am I missing exactly? They're saying that W10 have more users than Steam means more people to sell games to.

But this is a fallacy.  What percentage of W10 users even know MS has a store in their system? Optimistically...half? What percentage of them have ever even opened it? 75%? How many of them have actually downloaded something from it or use it with any regularity? Again, maybe...half? How many of them are even slightly interested in games? 25%? How many of them don't have Steam?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

They said Windows has a wider reach. and while also true, this does not imply more per se.

This is the correct  analogy:

Gamestop has 1500 stores and 20m customer

Walmart has 5000 stores and 100m customer

You sell 1.5m copies of your game at gamestop and 1m at walmart.
walmart has a wider (and bigger) audience

Nice to see MS is starting to win over some developers to UWP. Eventually the combined ecosystem for UWP could be huge.

I posted this months ago.

Windows Store is a mess tbh, just a free for all, all games listed together. Seeing Quantum Break next to Candy Crush don't make no sense.

But all of Steam's active users are on Steam specifically to play game. How many can be said for Windows?

Yeah, all of our office PCs (several hundreds) have been upgrades to Windows 10 a few weeks ago. If Telltale Games thinks that we are allowed to install games on them, they are wrong. ;)

From the article: "The company use the same game engine for all their games, and by porting the engine the game is automatically ported."

Yeah, right. If it is THAT easy... where are all the TTG games besides Minecraft Story Mode on Wii U? Or most TTG series for the Vita? Or many of the older series (Tales of Monkey Island, Sam & Max Season 3, Back to the Future...) for Android?

What I don't get is, why don't MS make a separate Game only store from the Wndows Store? Call it Windows Game Store or something. Don't lump it together with the normal Windows Store, because... yuck.

Anywho I'm not sure why people have a problem with this. Some people be, or might become, intrigued by the game that don't have Steam. After all, Steam is a 3rd party client that requires an active effort (not a lot, but you have to specifically want to download Steam to get Steam pretty much) to get, while Windows Store is automatically on your computer. Thus putting their games on the Windows Store will allow them to sell to a different audience than those who have Steam. Pretty simple really.

How is that different than seeing an indie game next to a AAA game in other stores like PSN or Steam?

Anywho, Telltale titles are a good fit for Windows Store and MS mobile devices.

Steam can be installed on windows 10. So they are in essence saying that windows 10.. has more reach than windows 10.

Along with ignoring the fact that steam can also be installed on 7/8/8.1/Mac AND linux.

That seems fairly.. well extremely poorly thought out.

Think of it this way. Many people use Google Play and Apple Store because its in their phone already. People are using Windows Store for the same reason and it has a lot of content with casual appeal.

Many more people could install Steam, but they wont. But more would use Steam if it came with Windows.

Anniversy update coming soon that will revamp the store.
