Forums - Movies & TV - James Bond doesn't want to use Sony phones.. cause he only wants the best

I had a Samsung phone and it was good. Not sure if I would call it the best.

I still think of Nokia for that.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Seriously, if I was Sony mobile I would just dig a hole and sleep in it.

LOL! =D

Pocky Lover Boy!

hahahahahahaha, Sony hardware never comes up to spec of other manufactures , the only decent piece of hardware they make is the PS4. PS3 was a solid rock. But in the mainstream electrical market they fail in every department from TV's,Computers,Phones,Bluray and DVD players and their hifi is over priced . You can buy better quality products for less from the likes of Samsung,LG,ONKYO AND MANY MORE.

You can buy a cheap DVD player that plays every disc under the sun ,from all regions and even your home burnt media to ,but a Sony player will chuck it out and say nah can't play that.

I believe many buy Sony to buy into a brand , but many don't understand is Sony is past it's sell by date and has been for many years. Samsung and LG rule the TV markets now. And with so many new phone brands arriving and the likes of Samsung,Huawei ,HTC and many more there losing a battle they should not be in.

Pretty much all movies today feature at least 5 million dollars worth of product placements.  Especially big budget movies that take place in the current time.

I bet avengers doesn't

Yeah....there was no Schwarma add in Avengers, or anything.

Ha! Its all bull. Samsung gave them more money. If an external company covers it, it means more money coming into Sony so they dont have to spend it themselves on advertisement expenses.

They probably could have done without the insult to their product though.

How about, use the phone or use the f'n door! It's Sony's movie and crybaby actors can be replaced.

Little ironic this isnt it?

The phone he uses (that frankly nobody gives a fuck about and wont even notice) is more important than the actor and the franchise?  If you say so....

No.  What would be really cry baby and pathetic would be firing the guy for not wanting to use a certain phone.

What would be incompetenet would be not to have product placement tied down at the stage the movie was signed off.

What would you have done given he was free to choose any of the offers?  I know what I would have done.

Insulting the company you make the movie for, is good enough reason for that company to find a new actor for the next James Bond for the next movie. James Bond should use a HTC though since that is partly british, but thats none of my business.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Meanwhile, Sony begins auditioning for his replacement in the next film, lol!

Daniel Craig is far from being a crybaby actor or an expendable asset to Sony Pictures. And after all... this is all business and I'm sure the company didn't take it personal.

Although you should know that Skyfall is the single true success story for Sony Pictures in the past 5 years or so. Sam Mendes/ Daniel Craig can do whatever they want.

Sure he is, there are a dozen quality actors waiting to become the next James Bond. Without the role of 007 he's just a semi known actor playing in average movies.

And about the successes, 21 Jump Street? Spiderman? Their animation studio? MIB 3? http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=mib3.htm

Craig has brought the franchise on a whole new level. He is easily the most well-received Bond out of them all.

About those movies... pocket change money. I doubt Men in Black 3 broke even.

x} Why does it matter how many hits Sony Pictures Animation have compared to 4 other companies when they're clearly making a lot of money?

#TitleRelease dateBudget[16]Gross[16]
1 The Smurfs July 29, 2011 $110 million $564 million
2 Hotel Transylvania September 28, 2012 $85 million $358 million
3 The Smurfs 2 July 31, 2013 $105 million $348 million
4 Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 September 27, 2013 $78 million $274 million
5 Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs September 18, 2009 $100 million $243 million

DreamWorks have put out 30 computer animated movies. Of course Sony Pictures Animation aren't as productive or profitable.

I guess you never heard of advertising cost the only one out of those five that really made a lot of money was the first Smurfs movie.  Also all the companies I have mentioned had way bigger hits then first Smurfs movie and on top of all that their movies make a ton of money from merchandising also especially the Pixar and Disney Animation movies.  The main reason that the made another Cars movie is mostly due to the fact that the first one made a shiton of money from merchandising.

Advertising is included in the budget costs. A film is generally considered profitable if it earns double the budget costs as the distributer gets half the gross. Sequels of both The Smurfs, Hotel Transylvania and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs are in development. They wouldn't do that unless they were profitable.

Why do I even bother? I know you. Never mind. I give up.

No its not, many movies have advertising budgets of  $100 million dollars on top of their production budgets and the advertising budgets for most movies are rarely known to the public.  I agree you should give up and actually do some more research about the movie industry.  Also the percentage of box office a movie gets varies by market and it also varies on how long a movie has been running in theaters movies usually get a higher percentage during their first couple of days of release.

I just want the NX to appear out of no where in the film, with that being the official reveal to what it is. I want to see 5 minutes of the film dedicated to Bond using the NX (whatever it is) and Nintendo paying 50 million for those 5 minutes. They have plenty of money but could you imagine people in the theaters flipping out and word of mouth spreading like crazy? And no one expects Nintendo to do this, or for Sony to allow it, which makes it all the better.
