Advertising is included in the budget costs. A film is generally considered profitable if it earns double the budget costs as the distributer gets half the gross. Sequels of both The Smurfs, Hotel Transylvania and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs are in development. They wouldn't do that unless they were profitable. Why do I even bother? I know you. Never mind. I give up. |
No its not, many movies have advertising budgets of $100 million dollars on top of their production budgets and the advertising budgets for most movies are rarely known to the public. I agree you should give up and actually do some more research about the movie industry. Also the percentage of box office a movie gets varies by market and it also varies on how long a movie has been running in theaters movies usually get a higher percentage during their first couple of days of release.
