I'll get over it but this happened literally 10 minutes ago. Figured you guys might understand.

And thats the reason why you want to go all digital now? Better teach your kid how valuable CDs are so it doesnt happen again. The disk is probably fixeble, just search for a store who has CD buffers, they can fix it. Are you sure chunks are missing?

Well really I'd just be getting in early. Discs won't be around forever anyway. As far as the chunks comment, I'll describe what I'm seeing.

It looks like someone has gone in deep with a knife to create an indentation (my fingernail sits nicely in it) and then dragged outwards to create several scratches away from the dent. That's what I meant by chunks taken out.
