Oh, that sounds interesting. I don't want to spoil anything so is it true what people on GAF said? Story doesn't explain anything, leaves more questions unanswered, characters are shallow? You can easily see devs ran out of time?

That's tough. Yes, the characters are shallow, but that's really not really much of an issue because they're all likable and their dialog is very well written and well acted. But yeah, the story leave a ton unanswered. And like obvious things. But not in some big way. It just felt deflated, and a lot of things you go through the game thinking they matter don't actually lead up to anything. That's why I think it'll be talked about so much. It ends in such a weird way. I guess you can call the ending "surprising," but that makes it out to be something that I don't think it is.

I didn't personally get the impression that they ran out of time at all. I don't know what they're talking about there.

So you guess there will be a lot of speculation on things that aren't adressed by the game itself? Then I am looking forward to discussions about it :) But I also read many times that the game screams for a second game that will explain more. Hopefully there will be one, I hate unfinshed stories.

That's not really what I meant. There are literally plot points, both major and minor, that either don't go anywhere or aren't explained at all. And again, these are obvious things. I guess there might be a thing or two that would be better explained from a second playthrough, but I personally didn't feel the urge to go come through the chapters I missed to see the events in retrospect, because it really isn't that kind of story. Like I said, the thing is really weird to talk about. It's a weird game. I'm sure there will be speculation on some loose ends that lend themselves to speculation, but most of them just don't.

And keep in mind that I'm still trying not to spoil anything for you. Even in the paragraph above, there major are things I am deliberately talking around. There are things that would, even in the utmost vagueness, spoil a part of the game for you. And the discussion is much more interesting if your opinion is blind.

Thank you very much for your attitude and I am now looking forward to the discussions.

So I have to get this off my chest and this seems to be the best place to do it.

I've just finished playing through The Order about an hour ago. My roommate got his copy this morning, and let me play it after he beat it. I don't know what the hell Sony did but the street date has clearly been broken, because everyone's been getting their's early.

Anyway, I don't want to talk about the game's length or even it's gameplay because, at least in my opinion, that is NOT going to be the interesting thing people are going to be talking about once it's out everywhere. I'm not going to spoil it, but the story itself is likely going to... get a lot of people talking. The Order is going to be an extremely interesting game to follow news and discussion on, the most interesting of which will be about it's plot. Not how long it is and not how the gameplay is either.

My first question is, is it good?

Second is, is there enough there for a sequal to expand on the ideas of the game and flesh out everything for the sequal to be quality too?

New playthrough of The Order 1866, is 6 hours long...

Is it good? I'm not going to answer that here, because that's a big part of why discussion on this game will be so interesting. If you really need to know my opinion on that, PM me.

As for your second question, without spoiling anything, yes. Again, I won't get into thoughts if it will be quality here, but there is a lot that can be done in a sequel. Honestly, there sort of has to be one. And... Well "expand" and "flesh out" aren't really the right words. "Address" and "continue" are better. And I'm just talking about story here. "Fleshing out" the game mechanics or level design would basically turn it into a completely different type of game, one that they clearly don't want to make, so I wouldn't expect much evolution there.

Pretty much confirms the 9+ hours talk is utter BS.

The ban of the first guys playthough is downright disgusting. I hope this blows back in Sonys face. People have a right to know how short the game is.

While I normally am against devs taking down Let's Plays I do kind of understand their stance here. The game hasn't officially come out and this could potentially spoil the game for those interested in it.

Can everyone in this thread take a chill pill?

Thanks, that'd be great!

No they can't obviously. Half of the posters have to justify they bought a PS4, the other half have to justify they didn't. Look at your sig, this is serious stuff!

Uncharted 1 is about 7-8 hours long.
I've played it Normal x2, Hard and Crushing. I got out of it more than 40 hours of gameplay. I don't mind it, if it's a good campaign.
Long as it's a good game, I don't mind the length, long as it's not Tomb Raider legend that ends in 4-5 hours.
