Except for cars, because i'm german. ^^
Does American culture itself have a heavy influence from European cultures? Definitely, because it's a still young culture that derived from multiple european ones.
It's not like Murica=world but like having the american pop culture overall dominating. And that means, that you can find movies, tv-shows etc. from there pretty much everywhere, but you will find much less from the most european countries altogether somewhere outside their homecountry.
Partially that might only be a language barrier.

You would not beleive the amount of shows from foregin countries that people take for granted as American. The Amazing World of Gumball is british made, Total Drama, Ruby Gloom, Calliou is Canadian, Totally Spies is from France, etc. There's tonnes more shows from other countries than you probably think.

Like my beloved Tiny Titans comic getting canned due to low sales at official newsstands despite having great sales elsewhere. :c

That looks like Teen Titans Go!

It does. It's kinda similar, in that a lot of the jokes are continuity nods to other DC stuff. I like Tiny Titans more, though it's a lot more aimed at kids than Teen Titans Go.

That is exactly what taking ownership is. If you multiplied Ireland X 50 or England X 50 and compared their contribution to culture and media internationally, they would absolutely eclipse the US massively. My wife is American and once when we were joking about this, she tried naming famous Americans. 4 out of 5 of them were Canadian, Australian,British or Irish. People like Mel Gibson, Micheal Buble, Liam Neeson (who she said had a terrible fake Irish accent in movies haha), even Ed Sheeran. As a matter of fact, the other English speaking countries combined with a lesser population than the US, have more famous people, even in the US, than their are famous Americans.

Hollywood is an amazing thing though. Because once someone is associated with it, they are thought to be from their. And FYI, even your comment on Doc McStuffins, it IS offensive and it IS rude. Also, saying things like Ireland only has U2, when we currently have 3 or 4 people in the top 30 in the US, that's just annoying and also rude and offensive.

"but you will find much less from the most european countries"?? You do understand that European countries are like one state of the US in size and population and this comparison is ludicrous. A normal comparison would be comparing the EU to the USA with similar population and GDP.

Also, the whole "Murica" thing, that started as people mocking Americans for being dopey and illiterate. Please help me understand why people do that?

Yes, europe and even EU is not one but many states, dozens of languages etc., i know that. Actualy living pretty in the middle of it. And i didn't say that all Ireland has is U2. It actually is the biggest thing that comes from the green Isle in music business.

On the other hand, can you name five internationally famous german actors or five musicians/bands? Without google of course.

Somehow seems i pissed you of, didn't intend that.

I'm not pissed off. But Germany has many talented famous people in areas that don't require language, so that brings us back to the language again.

Great. This thread has devolved into the pathetic nationalistic "my dad's better than your dad" horse shit I see on Youtube all the time.

Actually only know Callou and Totally Spies and at least i know where they are from. My daughter watched Caillou when she was in Kindergarten and Totally Spies sometimes know. And there's loads of other stuff over here from France, UK etc., it's just that the single biggest part is from US. As well as in other shows like CSI, Castle, Fringe and i don't know what.

Either way, somehow this has moved far away from what i wanted to point out.

Well, that explains the meaning of "globally in the US"

No, it has turned into the "your Dad doesn't own my Dad" argument. The only ones saying they are better than anyone is the Americans. Meanwhile other nationalities are just saying they do exist and do matter some. That the US doesn't own the world and is not the best at everything.

Wait? You're counting those. The question I need to ask. Where those shows created from being sold and intended to be broadcast in the US. Rather than being like Doctor Who. Made for the UK and would of been made regardless, if it was aired here in the US or not. 'Cause if you use the foregin company that made the show. As home base. Than almost nothing would be made from the US. Since the majority or the companies want to save that money. And film preatically everything somewhere else. Futurama for example is made in Korea. Would smallvile be counted as a Canadian show? What about X-Files, or Star Wars. All of them are shot in the UK.

That is completely different.

Futurama is produced by an american company, its ANIMATED in Korea.

Total Drama is produced by a Canadian company, whose given CN the rights to show it in America. They do this with many shows.

Who ever produces the show is what matters, not where it is aired, because TV companies like CN, USA, Nick, etc...license stuff from production companies all the time.
