Not claiming ownership.
Except for cars, because i'm german. ^^
Does American culture itself have a heavy influence from European cultures? Definitely, because it's a still young culture that derived from multiple european ones.
It's not like Murica=world but like having the american pop culture overall dominating. And that means, that you can find movies, tv-shows etc. from there pretty much everywhere, but you will find much less from the most european countries altogether somewhere outside their homecountry.
Partially that might only be a language barrier.

You would not beleive the amount of shows from foregin countries that people take for granted as American. The Amazing World of Gumball is british made, Total Drama, Ruby Gloom, Calliou is Canadian, Totally Spies is from France, etc. There's tonnes more shows from other countries than you probably think.

Actually only know Callou and Totally Spies and at least i know where they are from. My daughter watched Caillou when she was in Kindergarten and Totally Spies sometimes know. And there's loads of other stuff over here from France, UK etc., it's just that the single biggest part is from US. As well as in other shows like CSI, Castle, Fringe and i don't know what.

Either way, somehow this has moved far away from what i wanted to point out.

Well in the US most shows on tv will be from the US, this is pretty obvious.

Wait? You're counting those. The question I need to ask. Where those shows created from being sold and intended to be broadcast in the US. Rather than being like Doctor Who. Made for the UK and would of been made regardless, if it was aired here in the US or not. 'Cause if you use the foregin company that made the show. As home base. Than almost nothing would be made from the US. Since the majority or the companies want to save that money. And film preatically everything somewhere else. Futurama for example is made in Korea. Would smallvile be counted as a Canadian show? What about X-Files, or Star Wars. All of them are shot in the UK.

Dr.Henry_Killinger Pretty much answered your question. The place it's broadcast doesnt matter, they were created in France, or Canada? They are French, or Canadian. Also, none of those shows are only broadcast in the US. Totally Spies season 6 is currently airing on Nickelodeon in Europe, despite not airing in the US, and every season of Total Drama outside  finished airing completely in Canada, France, South America or other countries before even beginning to air in the US.

And yes, there's a difference between a show being made in Korea and being animated or filmed in Korea. The Simpsons is animated in Asia but is definitely an american show.

Lets see. Console 400 euros in Europe, 400 dollars in N. America. Games 75 euros in stores in Europe, 60 Dollars in N America. Download games in Europe 70 Euros, 60 Dollars in American. Euro to Dollar is currently 1.25 exchange rate. Thats 94 Dollar average per game in Europe. Even with the added take in America Europe pays more so no N.A. is not as important to companies wanting to make money. The only reasonn N.A. is so importat is because most of the websites and media that rate consoles and games are UK or US based and most of the critically acclaimed studios are from N.A. and considering my statement before this thats why companies cheris N.A.  Wheres the European game awards or the Japanese game awards huh. After all when a game wins VGA game of the year thats great PR for a game that excels sales. Everyone wants to buy the best crap.

Like my beloved Tiny Titans comic getting canned due to low sales at official newsstands despite having great sales elsewhere. :c

That looks like Teen Titans Go!

It does. It's kinda similar, in that a lot of the jokes are continuity nods to other DC stuff. I like Tiny Titans more, though it's a lot more aimed at kids than Teen Titans Go.

Do the East Titans appear in the comic?

Thing is, i'm german, So i meant the foreign stuff. Sure, we got the german stuff, we also got european stuff, especially british by the way, and pretty much american stuff. Thing is, the US is exporting entertainment to almost everywhere. And that is where probably 99% of the world get their big picture about Murica.

The most not so big even if grande european nations, especially us, just don't. Or at least not at all on such a scale. Most successful are probably Britain and then maybe Ireland.

And i really think that this takes a major role today in how someone sees a country.

No need to argue I will let the WorldWide sales speaks itself.

Great. This thread has devolved into the pathetic nationalistic "my dad's better than your dad" horse shit I see on Youtube all the time.

No, it has turned into the "your Dad doesn't own my Dad" argument. The only ones saying they are better than anyone is the Americans. Meanwhile other nationalities are just saying they do exist and do matter some. That the US doesn't own the world and is not the best at everything.

Don't put that on all of us. You're simply broadly generalizing Americans in the same paragraph that you're accusing Americans of broadly generalizing everyone else.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

I think Europe is more important for the industry, potential to grow, seemingly more diverse tastes of gamers means theres more innovation and many of the best talent started here. But really no market can be missed, but the world is certainly beyond anything America is. The US is a safe area for Xbox and a lot of fps games, in Europe many other games also do strongly. The US may be influential even in decline but it never was the world.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

'When the people are being beaten with a stick, they are not much happier if it is called the people's stick'- Mikhail Bakunin

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Funny thing i read very often in german forums. US=FPS
If i'm searching the vgc database for a random jrpg there's a not so small chance it sells better in the US.
So this seems like another little prejudice, even though fps are successful over there.

No market should be missed out. And us europeans sure spend money on games as well as streaming services.

Sidenote: That tiny 'rest of world' might get more and more important.
