Does American culture itself have a heavy influence from European cultures? Definitely, because it's a still young culture that derived from multiple european ones.
It's not like Murica=world but like having the american pop culture overall dominating. And that means, that you can find movies, tv-shows etc. from there pretty much everywhere, but you will find much less from the most european countries altogether somewhere outside their homecountry.
Partially that might only be a language barrier.


You would not beleive the amount of shows from foregin countries that people take for granted as American. The Amazing World of Gumball is british made, Total Drama, Ruby Gloom, Calliou is Canadian, Totally Spies is from France, etc. There's tonnes more shows from other countries than you probably think.

Wait? You're counting those. The question I need to ask. Where those shows created from being sold and intended to be broadcast in the US. Rather than being like Doctor Who. Made for the UK and would of been made regardless, if it was aired here in the US or not. 'Cause if you use the foregin company that made the show. As home base. Than almost nothing would be made from the US. Since the majority or the companies want to save that money. And film preatically everything somewhere else. Futurama for example is made in Korea. Would smallvile be counted as a Canadian show? What about X-Files, or Star Wars. All of them are shot in the UK.


Dr.Henry_Killinger Pretty much answered your question. The place it's broadcast doesnt matter, they were created in France, or Canada? They are French, or Canadian. Also, none of those shows are only broadcast in the US. Totally Spies season 6 is currently airing on Nickelodeon in Europe, despite not airing in the US, and every season of Total Drama outside  finished airing completely in Canada, France, South America or other countries before even beginning to air in the US.

And yes, there's a difference between a show being made in Korea and being animated or filmed in Korea. The Simpsons is animated in Asia but is definitely an american show.
