This clearly shows the move to handheld. Melee was more frontloaded but overall worse than the first entry. Brawl was strong, given with the strong Wii. Smash 3DS opeed even stronger than Brawl and already outsold Melee and Smash 1 lifetime - that is pretty good. Brawl seems possible to catch.
Smash WiiU performs really bad. The opening is better than the first game, but that is also true for Melee, that ended up worse. I think Smash WiiU will be similarly frontloaded, that would mean it will be worst selling Smash.

It doesn't look that bad in comparison, but whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be a strong series.

Looks like Guilty Gear never was an especially good seller. Looking at these numbers I wonder why it got so much sequels - does a few K justify more and more games? Or does it sell better in the West?
Anyways, judging by these numbers the current release isn't so much a bomb. It sold even better than some of the PS2 releases.
Something interesting to take from these numbers is, that PS3 still seems to have the better consumer-base. It sold more than double on PS3 than on PS4. I think it is a sign of the switch to portables - many who bought still a PS3 now pass on the PS4 and buy Vita or 3DS instead. Or stick to mobiles. Will be interesting to watch if that will change over the course of the gen. If not, it really looks bleak in Japan - and that could mean japanese games switch more and more to mobiles. If that happens it might end my interest in consoles, as I deem japanese games usually more interesting than western ones.

Looks like a weak selling spinoff. I thought the Warriors name would secure more sales in Japan. Stronger on Vita, but I would expect that for a title like Warriors. Koei might have tested with this title how it works on Vita, future titles might switch to Vita altogether.
