Forums - Sales - Black Friday anecdotes

Also want to add that in 2 Walmarts they were out of Elsa & Anna Disney Infinity figurines and running a bit low on a couple others, but the big mover seemed to be Skylanders Trap Team.

Amiibo section was full of Amiibos. Make me wonder how they did.

Post your Black Friday anecdotes! I love hearing these.

My local Game store (UK) had a queue leading out of the shop and down the street. There was a placard outside that had a PS4 deal with GTA+TLOU (I think) for £299.99 then beside it there was another placard which had An Xbone and AC:Unity+Lego Batman or something (I think) for £299.99 aswell..if that was the placards they used nationwide then it doesn't bode well for the Xbone

I thought Game had TLOU+Driveclub. XB1 was AC: U+AC4+Forza 5+Lego Batman+ £5 XBL gift card (XB1 might have been midnight only though). Both £299

Maybe you're right actually, I can't really remember. Just remember thinking that the PS4 one looked way more appealing

I went to a Best Buy at the mall nearby. Unfortunately, I wasn't getting a PS4. Just a Seagate hard drive at $80 and a few Blu-Ray movies on sale. Long lines, but pretty organized comparing it with 2 years ago. I do remember that the guys behind us bought Ryse: Son of Rome. I just don't know how sold out any of the consoles were.

Now... lines only took like 20-30 minutes to empty since they've opened the store at 12am (all of our stores still open at 12am). Less people than the previous years? I think so. But at least in here, people behaved better this time.

sounds like the "behaviour" from last year put people off going this year. I don't get why stores don't get organized because it damages their future sales when you have near riot behaviour in their store.

Still saw plenty of PS4 at my local Walmart yesterday when I went to buy a new tree. Either people don't want a PS4 or they shipped a shit ton.

This was at around 2PM.

sounds to me like Sony have made some huge shipments. It's ripping up the charts online so no reason to think demand is any diff at retail. and from a stores point of view they're going to order in more PS4's than X1's or Wii U considering most of their sales have been there for the whole year. And they haven't had to do heavy discounts just to shift units.

I wonder if a lot of the whole BF stuff is moving onto online. I mean seriously seeing the videos of some of those idiot people fighting over polaroid TV's in asda just makes you wonder about the future of humanity...lol.

I mean, order stuff online without the hassle of idiots pushing/shoving and hitting you... seems like a sensible decision to me.

why so negative? X1 has had a firesale all month. Unless they slashed the price to 279 they were always going to lose BF heavily. It should still win the entire month.

I just meant that the PS4 deal looked a lot better than the Xbone one

Lady tried to walk out of Walmart without a receipt then argured she lost it than ran with her cart. Police nabbed her in about 30 sec. I felt bad for her 3 kids that had to watch this all go down.went to Walmart which had 1 XB1 ACU/Kinect no PS4s. And the base exchange which when I left had about 30 XB1 ACUs (they also charge no tax so this was a shocker) and an endless supply of other consoles (Even titanfall bundles) only a few regular PS4 stanalones no GTAV bundles.

Predictions on 12/01/15 - Generation 8 Totals:

PS4: 85-95m
X1: 55-65m
WiiU: 20-30m

Only been to a couple walmart and a Best Buy since. Gaming wise, Xbone and WiiU were sold out at both. PS4 in plentiful stock.

Most surprising is even today there are plenty of good games left on the PDQ's. In my experience those always went fast as fuck.

Infinity wiped out it seems. Loads of Skylanders left. Amiibo somewhere in between.

Why no GTA/TLOU bundles shown? It was the one people were going for.
