I went to a Best Buy at the mall nearby. Unfortunately, I wasn't getting a PS4. Just a Seagate hard drive at $80 and a few Blu-Ray movies on sale. Long lines, but pretty organized comparing it with 2 years ago. I do remember that the guys behind us bought Ryse: Son of Rome. I just don't know how sold out any of the consoles were.

Now... lines only took like 20-30 minutes to empty since they've opened the store at 12am (all of our stores still open at 12am). Less people than the previous years? I think so. But at least in here, people behaved better this time.

sounds like the "behaviour" from last year put people off going this year. I don't get why stores don't get organized because it damages their future sales when you have near riot behaviour in their store.

Actually, it's more like my country is in a bad recession. But your point is also valid, since many people here hate the idea of getting bashed by others just to get inside the store. Just so you get an idea, the Wal Mart nearby, which was notorious for some fights last year over a $98 Funai TV, was a tad empty Thursday afternoon. It started to fill up by 9pm. But the Funai TV's... that's another story

only went to target (around 11am). xbox was not surprisingly sold out as they had the best deal with that extra $50 in gift card. ps4 was mostly gone but still had about 10 left. not sure what the restocking situation is but ps4 had a lot more shelf space which may imply ps4 had more stock to begin with.

I saw a rack full of Amiibos on Wednesday, but that's of course before Black Friday.

All the news outlets and articles online that I've read said that the actual swarm of people on BF was not like it used to be. Either due to stores opening insanely early on Thanksgiving day or due to stronger online shopping.

Why didn't the stores stopped the queues well short of the doors and let people in, in sections, I went to a football match recently and was in the away supporters section. They only let like 60 of us through at a time before searching us. It keeps everything calm and orderly instead of letting 300 people charge through a door at once.

It is indeed due to store opening at 6PM on Thanksgiving. Stores were absolutely MOBBED that night. They even had sales that ran at different times. Some from 6PM to 7:59PM and the rest from 8PM onwards.

I sold my PS1 and 3 games to my cousin. PS1 un-doomed back to life?
