More seriously Square is probably done with ps3, and isn't looking towards vita as they already have a good experience on 3DS.

Possibly a dissidia for vita though. If it's on ps4, and it will probably, i don't see it being a AA project. Especially when they said they were dropping japanese mid sized games for more mobile and AAA.

Yeah thats what I meant... but if its not mid tier/AA then what the fuck could it be aside from DQXI?? They only have 3 AAA franchises and we know 2 of them have upcoming games already. Unless of course SQEX have a different understanding of their franchises status

DQXI, an online game, possibly a spiritual successor of drakengard/nier going for more RPG elements ?

Valkyrie profile is also one of their AAA franchise not to be forgotten (or did they stated it was developped internally ?)

A new Ip by Hiroyuki Ito is possible too, rather than him working on ff XVI.

These are the tings I mean when I say mid tier, along with Mana, The Last Remnant, Star Ocean etc.

These are small AAA compared to FF/GTA/CoD but mid sized games from SE rather would be FF explorers, theatrythm, dissidia, Bravely default (typically handeld games)

Also DQ franchise would have become mid sized by your definition (plus small scale MMO) btw.

New IP then ?

The dead Japanese market is plenty of reason to believe it isn't PS4 (also the fact that Squeenix probably wants a cheap project to bring in capital not bleed more money on cutting edge graphics, they have that pothole in FFXV and KH3), especially for a JRPG. I'd more likely believe it being on the 3DS/Vita or 3DS/WiiU or just 3DS.

Doubtful. Expecting something for PS4.

On an almost unrelated note, Xenogears on 3DS would be kinda neat.

True, the Wii U isn't selling the best but with funding for development from Nintendo, Square-Enix wouldn't have anything to lose.

They still wanna be able to make a reasonable profit, which tbh probably won't be much on the Wii U even if the development is covered, better off making a PS4/X1 multiplat.


If Nintendo fund it, SE can only make profit. If would be exclusive, I bet it would sell well

One thing that suggests this could be true is the apparant secrecy surrounding this game. If this was to be true, then I wouldn't rule out a possible Nintendo franchise RPG. I would have loved to see a spin off game in the Kingdom Hearts series, but based on a Nintendo franchise instead of Disney franchises; Why not a Mushroom Kingdom Hearts, with Amiibo support? It could be an unofficial sequal to Super Mario RPG.
