I disagree. The ps4 is not the "it" console or item. The ps4 benefited from great PR and an entry point that most people could afford. However, not this is a new ball game. The Xbox One is the only logical place to play this holiday season. With exclusives like Forza Horizon 2, and Halo MCC, and Sunset Overdrive and the most reliable and robust online service available, the Xbox One is the true leader. The combination of games and service with this new price drop only serves to bring the Xbox One to the masses. Thank you Microsoft. We are humbled.

At this point MS will have to move mountains to ever catch up to the PS4 because consumers see it as the inferior product, and no one wants to buy the loser.

many guys on the internet act like this would be true, but the only thing they do is spreading bad word of mouth. the intention behind that is ofc different for every person.
but for me, every1 using that word sounds like a desperate fanboy. hell what would u think, if i call u an inferior human being. or i say: many consumer think the wiiU is not only inferior hardware, but also has an inferior software library, proven by the bad sales.
the word inferior ist mostly just offensive. even if u try to use it at factual as possible.

I don't think anyone denies that the PS4 has more graphics ability than the XB1.  That is where it stops.  

To assume that your individual opinion that the interfase is better only proves that it is just the opposite.  I can give 100 random people a test drive of both systems and probably come up with completely different opinions about both systems OS.

As far as price goes, even though  I agree that if the XB1 was cheapoer yet it would sell better, the point that the OP makes about the PS4 being the "it" machine is valid.  Price alone will not change that perception or reduce it.  Games and features will.

There are a couple of people on these forums right not that seem like they are actually paid by MS.... it's pretty laughable.

This is just general consumer mentality.  People want to buy the "best" product.  By saying "I bought PS4 because it is <insert better/superior/more fun etc here>" people infer "I did not buy <WiiU/XB1> because they are inferior products to the 'best' product."

Bottom line though is that people will buy what they think is best for them.  

I also agree that the Zune/iPod and PS4/XB1 analogy is silly.  The premise works, but the actual support for parallels is way off.

OS features for gaming can't catche in just minutes or hours.

+ Bad installation times
+ Bad patch system
+ Slow OS and Apps (of course when compared with PS4)
+ No basic feature slike (I don't know) take screeshot
+ No SharePlay
+ No BC gaming streaming
+ Etc (yeat there is more)

So in the next few hours Xbone will catch PS4 in gaming feature?
