Forums - Nintendo - Bayonetta 2 Debut Sales in Japan are 7x Higher than The Wonderful 101

hated_individual are you in some way involved in Playeressence? I can't fathom there being more than one person in the universe having such a misinformed opinion.

Bayonetta bombed in Japan and Nintendo lost a bunch of cash out of the deal. Nothing else to say. No need to get upset. We're not investors.

Your denial is annoying... Your logic is flawed...  Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 released in very different circumstances and conditions... Don't be ignorant.

read this http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=131764628&postcount=1560

That's actually a fantastic post. It seems like some gaf posters have more insight on sales than we do.

He observed, he experienced and he has arguments with good foundation...

Tell me that you would't bought 360 version after experiencing PS3 version...

I wouldn't and I didn't.

Underlined - So you only read two articles, you never contacted him nor never had discussion with him... You actually don't know him and you are jumping to conclusion yet you are moderator on this forum. Your opinion of him superficial/shallow so I can't accept it as valid and is matter of manners/credibility.

He is frustrated... Who would't on obvious BS clickbait.

So you know the guy, that explains all of this. You have absolutely zero credibility left at this point.

I have no idea who or what Blackb0nd or ReviewtechUSA are.
It's obvious that the two only articles I've read there are written by an unprofessional(he never claimed he was a pro) fanboy.

http://playeressence.com/media-create-sales-91514-92114-smash-bros-3ds-top-the-charts-bayonetta-2-debut/
With claiming that it includes only one day of sales, he proves that the doesn't know what he's talking about.

Common mistake, one of forum members in this thread said I lied that original Bayonetta had 4 days to sell when it released in its week, he said 3 days yet I proved its 4. He forgot to include launch day. I see this kind of mistakes every week. Annoying. He corrected himself in article below...

http://playeressence.com/bayonetta-2-debut-sales-in-japan-are-7x-higher-than-the-wonderful-101/
1st sentence, cheap shot at PS4 - nothing to do with the topic at hand.

No its not - it does, re-read few times the sentence to understand the context of it. hint;double standards by mainstream media

2nd sentence, accusing the readership of purposely doing or not doing something (quite a heavy accusation)

Wrong... Not at readership, Mainstream media for its ignorance, inconsistency and lack of profesionalism...

4th sentence, no source given for the lifetime sales

Valid, he didn't bother to check and relied on his memory

6th sentence, no serious writer uses the word "exposed". Only fanboys and conspiracy theorists do.(Not true, a lot more types of people use it)

Exposed is used for Expose that ties to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investigative_journalism and has become a slang

This whole article lacks logic and he doesn't explain his point. Selling 7 times more than a game that did horribly (pretty much accepted by anyone) in Japan, proves what exactly?

Why would he explain something obvious... It proves that its sales aren't bad from what mainstream want's their reader to believe...

Vanquish PS3 sold 47K in 3 days at 3 times the Wii U install base.

Well no use wasting time with you then.

If you can't notice that someone behaving like a child blaming others "but but the bad media didn't say anything about the PS4..." (again that's not professional, that's kindergarten) that doesn't have to do anything with Bayonetta 2, then making senseless points like "Bayonetta 2 sold 7 times more than "insert bad selling game here" !!!" is the same as saying "Game X (that sold 7 copies) sold 7 times as much as Game Y (which sold 1 copy)!!!". That's statistical bollocks that doesn't prove anything. Especially when it's thrown into the air like here and isn't explained.

Now you come with Vanquish. Totally off-topic and you don't explain what the hell it's supposed to say ? Nice random information.

I'm not jumping on conclusions.

I know he isn't into the sales topic and thus lacks basis for any kind of deeper discussion (prove being him saying 1 instead of 2 days, mentioning sales and not mention all of the sources, using random multipliers that are supposed to tell us something but don't)
He's very emotional driven and can't hide it even in his "news" which are supposed to be as emotion free as possible. Everything else is a comment.
I've been moderator for long enough to know that emotional driven people are the ones violating the forum rules sooner or later. Arguing with them is futile, as you can write a long post like this and they would either repeat their "points" or answer with a "no".

How about you stop following the "biased" media and this guy and think for yourself instead.

Assuming that person has a PS3 AND a 360. Also assuming that said person didn't already chose the 360 version over the PS3 version. Also assuming that the game isn't in the backlog of said person, also assuming that said person liked the game enough to buy it again.
That's a pretty low likelihood and can't account for many sales.

lol Bayonetta 2 is one of the biggest flops in recent memory in Japan... anyone who tries to deny that obviously does not have (or accept) all the facts.

The franchise went from selling ~200k first charting week to barely reaching 30k... these desperate websites can try to spin the facts as much as they want, but frankly they will be silenced too once the figures for the second and third weeks are out and the game quickly disappears off the face of the earth.

LOL KIllzone and Resistance are spin-off shooters, and shooters are not at all popular in Japan. Gundam Breaker is also available on PS3 where it sold well, so taking the sales of the Vita version in isolation is misleading, especially since it was released months after the PS3 version and was a mere port basically. The others have performed disasterously though, but you forget that Bayo 2 is the sequel to a game that sold 300k+ in Japan, unlike the likes of Kagero, for example.

And this does not contradict my point at all... I did say that Bayo 2 is ONE of the biggest flops in recent memory, and that is totally true. The examples you have provided do not add anything new at all, if anything but to show that you are willing to provide misleading examples to spin Bayo 2's numbers into something less horrific than they actually are.

And frankly, I would personally add Tropical Freeze to your list... it is a game that barely sold 10% of what its predecessor sold, and has failed to even reach half the sales that the 3DS port of Tropical Freeze sold, so that is a pretty massive flop imo.

Your comment was entirely lacking in perspective. If you actually look at the numbers, it is nowhere near "one of the biggest flops in recent memory".

That's about as telling as the 666% increase in WiiU sales in Uk for MK, or the 3050% increase for Xbox 360 in Japan one time. Pointless.
