Be warned this is going to be a little long

Because I see that it could have been a game I really loved, but it is instead smeared with so much shit that I can't stand that the end result just annoys the hell out of me.

The game is often compared to Persona, which makes people assume that I should like it, and I see the resemblance, but when I compare the two I also see how much worse SMTxFE looks.

1. I can't stand the whole premise of SMTxFE's story, the whole idol thing about making it in the entertainment industry bores me to tears. The game presents itself way too happy go lucky and full of anime cliches. Now I'm not saying that Persona doesn't have anime cliches, it sure as hell does, but the core premise of these stories is always a darker and more interesting one.

2. In close connection with that I also can't stand the music in this game, which also seems to be a huge focus here. I don't care for JPOP at all and the music in here is making my ears bleed.

3. I also can't develop any interest in the characters which is extremely bad for a game like this, which lives by its characters. I simply don't care about girls that either want to become or are idols already, that's simply not interesting to me.

4. The difference in production value or at least in where the money went with SMTxFE as compared to Persona 5 also bugs me, SMTxFE looks to have spend most of their budget on making all the idol cutscenes and performances look good and have been skimping on the rest. Just compare the new P5 trailer with SMTxFE, look at animations, dungeon or world design or the choice of making NPCs just colored blobs, yes one could argue that it's an artistic choice, but I see it as a cheap cop-out. A Wii U game, that even has Nintendo involved, should look way better than this.

5. Finally there is the fanservice, yes there is also a degree of fanservice in Persona and I must say that my least favourite thing in the new trailer were the jiggling boobs of the girl in the pyramid scene, but SMTxFE just completely overdoes it. The amount of anime tits that has been presented in what has been shown to this point, just pisses me off. Not because it's exploiting women or something, but because it makes an assumption of the fanbase of the game, it assumes that this is what the fans of these games want and like. That is further amplified by the fact that the special edition of the game includes swimsuit skins, basically saying that people want this so much that they'll even be willing to pay extra for it. Well I don't, I don't give a fuck about this stuff in an Atlus game, so stop assuming that I do.

All right. fair enough, I agree, the game does see to be a bit too stereotypically Japanese/Anime with the annoying JPOP music, the general "kawaii desu" attitude of the game, and the bouncing tits.

I think this game should not be compared to Persona as well. I don't know much about Persona but I do know that they are good games, so I think SMTxFE should be seen as its own thing and not Persona 5 Wii U edition as that seems to be a bit of an unfair comparison,

Anyway, thanks for clearing that up. I was just curious as to why you hate SMTxFE.
