Forums - Gaming Discussion - Bloodborne to be less 'punishing' aiming for a 'wider audience'

There are already too many easy games out there. I miss the good old days when video games actually challenged players. Now people like these 'movies that you play' games where you can beat them in your sleep. I think I'm slowly losing interest. Thanks to all of the powder puffs we can't have nice things

How about we wait for the actual end result? They are stating in the interview that they don't want to betray or disappoint their fans.

To the people that have never played a souls game and are saying this is good, how the heck would you know?

I agree about waiting, but Dark Souls 2 wasn't as perfect as Demon's/Dark Souls because of that "broading horizons" attitude. :(

How about...

Start up a new game - Hard Mode or HARDER MODE

I like that route better.

Or.... here me out.

Start up a new game - Easy Mode OR Hard Mode OR Harder Mode

Triple the options, triple the fun xD

That was cheesy I know :(

Start up a new game -> Normal Mode OR Casual Mode (separate and different)

I don't see the issue with giving more people a way to play. I do agree that the normal mode should be what the majoority of fans owuld want, but I honestly see no problem in offering a casual mode.

It's like you're speaking a different language to me.

That also didn't have the creator of the franchise on board, right? :P

We'll see how it ends up, for now I think the game looks awesome.

OK but what was once a for sure system seller for me is now a 'wait and see'

Totally fair, the game will have to prove itself just like every other game.

Making it easier? That could... ruin the game. The first game focused on the difficulty aspect. The fact that the game was so hard and rewarding made you addicted to it, because you really wanted to beat those fucking bosses!

So... what happens when you take the difficulty out? You take away that rewarding sensation you get when you beat the bosses! You end up having another hack and slash, and kill anything that was cool about the series. The only cool thing left would be the artstyle.

I'm not against expanding this to a wider audience but doing it at the cost of making the game a worse experience is not good either. The best thing they can hope for is to create a balance so that everyone is satisfied in the end.
