A lot of girls like the Zelda series.

It would be nice if they could actually feel like they are the ones adventuring, just like we can.

Choosing to play as a boy or girl would only be a natural improvement for the series.

I think they can feel that already, because things like sex, age, race, species and personality don't have to match perfectly between the player and playable character to create immersion.

Of course they can. Otherwise they wouldn't like Zelda in the first place. But I still think it would be a nice addition, regardless of how minor it is.

EDIT: I'm talking about the ability to choose the gender of Link, not replacing him and forcing the player to play as female. That would just feel weird.
