Forums - Nintendo - I think Nintendo gets more attention BECAUSE they have no press conference @E3

I really think so. Their promo video has 400k+ views . Every news site report about them, because they have other plans than the others.

I do not think that sony and microsoft have the same attention BEFORE E3, maybe after ^^

What do you think ?

its by far one of the stupidest decisions made by nintendo in recent years. They learned nothing from last year.

I think Nintendo did a great job last year at E3 o.0

Wouldn't they do it even if Nintendo had the same plans? They'd still announce the news, which in that case would be a regular E3 conference.

What happened last year? I remember some good games being announced instead of 30 min talking about sales nobody cares about.

Nah, this is limited to video game news sites and stuff. Their E3 Wii Fit presentation was all over the normal news (atleast here in germany). I doubt there will be similar exposure for anything they announce with their E3 direct.

I think it's safe to say that you are in the vast minority there.  Nintendo didn't simply lose E3 last year, they were a non-factor and that stands to happen again.

I would have to say yes they do get more attention. But last year they had to deal with problems that it didn't go in their favor, the biggest being they tried with only one streaming source last year, I think it was akamai and it was hit hard so it brought the stream down. Now they are reguarally using Youtube in addition plus it seems they are adding Twitch and possible a few others just in case it gets hit again. So techinical problems souldn't be a problem for this. And it will be more about the content of what they have to announce and show, which will include the new Wii U Zelda title, not Hyrule warrior the one Nintendo is working on. Plus possibly more of X.

The other big problem was how the message orginally was handled that they would be having a pretaped presentation instead of their usually press conference for the public and smaller meetings for the press and business sectors through out the conference. Most site handled as they we foregoing E3 totally and wouldn't be there and that stuck. On a side not NOA really needs a new PR person ever since FIls-Amie took over the President's position who ever took over his old spot has been doing horribly.

....Takes a look at sales, well maybe they should try new things in every facet of their game business. especially E3.

Just look at what effect the last E3 had on PS and xbox, it freaking turned the industry.

If you think youtube views are even worth taking into account then nintendo still wouldnt come out on top.
And eurogamer certainly wont be able to make a video like this for nintendo.

edit: damn, I forgot the before and after e3 bit of the OP =/

In that case its because Nintendo's videos is better than sony and MS's e3 hype videos.
