yeah, i'm keeping an eye on that number this year.  if it was every best buy it would be an amazing idea.   with only 76 (if i remember correctly) best buys supported it is a big failure in execution.

I think Nintendo did a great job last year at E3 o.0 


I think it's safe to say that you are in the vast minority there.  Nintendo didn't simply lose E3 last year, they were a non-factor and that stands to happen again.


They definitely where not a non factor. Last year was definitely disappointing, but they very much had a presence. Last year wasn't disappointing because they had a Direct; it was disappointing because the Direct was full of disappointing reveals.

It's a horrible idea. The Directs don't appeal directly to audiences the way official presentations do.

They won't get more attention, I don't see how that's arguable. Mainstream press gives focus to press conferences on top of dedicated gaming press.

I'm actually glad to be the odd one out.  It seems I share less in common with most Sony and Microsoft fans on this site.  They might look down on me on this site but in real life I would look down on them (because I'm taller).


That sounds like resignation to me. I do miss the times when SEGA/Nintendo were duking it out constantly not only with awesome first party content from both companies, but also huge 3rd party support and comparable hardware like the 2 gaming giants they were.

Nowadays it seems to me like they completely surrendered and stuck their head in their shell like a smashed koopa, surrounded by a few exclusives for protection. Pretending they don't have to compete to stay relevant.

Maybe when Iwata gets the hell out things will get better...

I'm not sure what I think of not having live press conference. They say it's not gonna be a Nintendo Direct so we'll see what it is.

The whole thing just screams that they have nothing new to show. 40 minutes was their last one. And of those they used wjat felt like half to show off smash brothers which we already knew about.. 30 minutes of filler
