3D Land being Mario's "disowned" game really drives it home. Mario's worst games are better than Sonic's best.

Mario for sure.

Sonic was good on Genesis, but ran out of gas once Sega no longer had use for him as a console-selling mascot. Pity, too.

All my opinions:
Sonic's first trilogy is better
Sonic's first 3D game is better
Galaxy = Sonic Unleashed
Galaxy 2 is better than Colors
3D World is better than Lost World
Mario has way better spinoff games

Winner: Mario. Although Sonic's design (Even the Sonic Boom one) is a lot better than Mario's.

Frankly, Sonic's never been great. His early games are overrated; the series has always bounced between "going so fast you have no control" and incredibly clumsy platforming when you do slow down.

His best games are just decent.
