Japanese release of the PS4 is distorting the numbers by almost 10% for 2014..... But there no denying that PS4 is killing it in Europe with sheer dominance and now Japan.

Well, as long as the unprecedented demand in EU remains high, they probably will.

I expect XO to claw back up to 50/50 with PS4 in NA.

i've only seen that happen when you made the thread, maybe somebody has it out for you.

 

@OP: it will probably reach it, not sure, but it wont stay like most likely. i can see the PS4 finishing the gen with over 50% market share, but its still the start of the gen, so you never know.

The competition made so many mistakes going into the new generation it's not even funny. Complete suicide. We're back to PS2 domination.

Both of the competition will be terminated early and PS4 will dominate all by itself. In the long run the hardest competition towards PS4 will come from PC and tablets.

OT: Congratulations PS4, you honestly do deserve it (I look forward to the many exclusives you recieve). Kitler did you finally get one?

No and I don't think so.

 

I expect the Steamboxes to be a relatively niche thing, especially after the clusterfuck of announcements with overpriced, unatractive, sometimes unupgradable boxes.

Tablets, hmm. I don't think that the userbase who now own PS360 so probably around 100 million unique people to ditch console gaming for tablets as it is now. I don't expect tablets to become viable replacements for consoles in terms of games and streamlined hardware solutions during this console generation so 5-6 years. So yeah I think PS4 is safe until it will get good games and won't fail in the less important sections like apps OS and whatnot.



So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
