Forums - Gaming - PS4 fast approaching a dangerously 70% marketshare for 2014!

I am going to say it right now: I will bet anyone any amount of money that the Xbox One will not outsell the PS4 lifetime sales.

I will also be very surprised if the PS4 does not outsell the X1 by at least 2:1 globally...

Sales certainly will have slowed by the second year?

I don't think sales predictions are your strong suit bud.

I'm not making "sales predictions". It's called common fucking sense. The PS4, in today's current gaming market, simply is not going to maintain 100k per week over a long period of time. Yes, PS4 sales WILL have slowed by 2015. That also is just common sense. It will wax and wane, certainly, like most systems do. But there is just no way in hell that it's going to to maintain high weekly sales for as long as some of you seem to be thinking it will.

And regardless, if you actually believe that PS4 is going to grab 70% market share in 2014, then I'm not the one with prediction issues.

Besides the first really bad year for PS3 it almost never fell below 100k a week. In fact most of the time PS3 was over 150k a week. With the new services, features, games, apps, etc. PS4 will sell better next year than it is this. PS4 should almost never fall below 200k a week in 2015. With your common sense you are basically saying console gaming market, and AAA games are in a dieing state or flat out dead.

Last gen you had a very split market place as PS3 had a terrible launch, and 360 picked up a ton of people and held on thanks to XBOX Live. This gen Sony is going to take back a good portion of the share they lost from the PS2 gen, if not see even greater success. The core gamer market is still somewhere around 180M people. PS4 is going to have years that it sells 20M units. I think some people have the wrong idea about the industry based on the bad sales of XBO and WiiU. The fact of the matter is, this gen has a clear choice in the PS4, and once the supply issue resolve it will be a healthy PS2 like market, and most likely at an even bigscale.

2014 sales PS4 1.4m, X1 500k and Wiiu 300k so.  Near 64% maret share for PS4, clearly you are the one with the issues.

Common sense logic and reality show second year is better as it actaully has games come out, comapred to the usually barren launch year.

It's common sense that the PS4 will go against the sales trends of every Playstation console before it? It's common sense that a better library and likely cheaper price will result in lower sales? Why? Because you say so?

I'm not sure why you're bringing up the bolded as I don't recall ever saying I believed that. Even so, unlike your "common sense", at least there is actually some data to support it.
