I expect the Steamboxes to be a relatively niche thing, especially after the clusterfuck of announcements with overpriced, unatractive, sometimes unupgradable boxes.

Tablets, hmm. I don't think that the userbase who now own PS360 so probably around 100 million unique people to ditch console gaming for tablets as it is now. I don't expect tablets to become viable replacements for consoles in terms of games and streamlined hardware solutions during this console generation so 5-6 years. So yeah I think PS4 is safe until it will get good games and won't fail in the less important sections like apps OS and whatnot.
