The lack of a hardware boost for the Wii U this week is almost chilling. It feels suspiciously like the Japanese have given up on the Wii U as a failed platform, which is not good at all. Only Smash Bros. and Mario Kart have any hope of providing a meaningful boost. However, the decision to have a 3DS version might end up killing the Wii U's best chance.
Nintendo really needs some new evergreen IP to interest people who are ambivalent to the usual suspects.

The Drought only applies for America, in Japan Nintendo is launching Just Dance as an exclusive on April 3rd , they also have NES Remix as a physical release for April 24th and Sonic Racing game comes on May 15th, neither will increase the sales of the console, but together they may help it avoid very low numbers.
I am going to be so pissed if Shadowfall sells more than Tropical Frezee first week. I know this won't translate to Killzone having better lifetime sales than TF in Japan, but this is still something I wouldn't have expected to happen a year or two ago.

Nintendo has to cut the price, this is the only way, they cant wait for the other game Mario Kart 8, it's only coming in 3month and 10 days ! How will Wii U survive until then ?
Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m
That is a bomb. DKC:TF is a bomb people.
The re-release of DKCR on 3DS sold over 100k Week 1 and helped boost 3DS HW by over 20%, which was funnily enough about 8500 units.
This is a terrible opening.

Its the lack of a significant HW boost thats most worrying. |
This. The software is not moving hardware.
Not a good opening for DK. 45K is really low.
Let`s just hope it can sell well over time as Mario 3D World.
