Forums - Website Topics - Get rid of the point system on the site

Meh. Who cares.

Oh wait, you do.

But, but I'm finally almost at level 9.

There's a point system?

Makes no sense. No one pays attention to points. For anyone that does, they'll just focus their new points system on their forum posts, badges, etc. What bothers me most is the amount of thread duplication that happens over a short period of time, or threads that should be be posts continuing the conversation in another thread.

If there's already a couple of threads about the PS4, we don't need one for the price and one for the not existent box and another one for Sony's comment on no used games and another one for wishlists, and another one for questions asking if the PS4 is backwards compatible and another stating that CD's aren't useable with the system.

As for people posting specifically for points... what are the mods for? If the spam has truly calmed down, what's the excuse?

Wut? but we can trade them in for features and prizes... why would you want to get rid of them?

how about no? i like the point system, lets work on making it even better

This sounds nice in theory but I doubt it would have any affect on the quality of posts.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I dont mean to derail this. Im completely off topic. I cannot read anything on this site today without a bUnch of intrusive ads. As I was writing this a stupid u verse ad took me back to the top of the page. I am soooo fed up with stupid ads. Is anyone else having this problem?

I don't really pay attention to them (perhaps if they had worth like they used to?) but it's a nice reminder to see how far I've come since I began, really.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Does anybody really pay attention to points?

Who are these people who are spamming for points exactly?
