My lord, gaming is near dead right now across the board if you take out the Japenese 3DS numbers.

i think the explanation some have is not that bad. ps3 is selling more as 360 which means it also needs more on shelves. shipment numbers will pass 360's faster as sold to customers numbers because of that. especially in japan, most retailers maybe don't even have 360s anymore. maybe it's 1.4m or 1.3 but i think not smaller.
Thanks for the hint on the upcoming numbers. I updated the Vita vs. Vita-thread with new graphs including this weeks numbers.
Vita, 3DS and Wii U are doing so badly, besides 3DS in Japan. Hopefully PS4/Next box can pull some amazing numbers. The industry needs the boost.

Relatively low sales of Resident Evil 6 so the population of zombies is increasing.
Now seriously, no big releases + Wii U is backwards compatible and has no games + Nintendo legs is my guess.

PS360 gap? Both are undertracked a lot, I think PS3 by even more than a million. These numbers mean there is almost 3m PS3s on shelves.

You're probably right. At least the Wii U is selling Wii software, if not it's own. That's better than nothing, obviously, but not a good sign for the perceived "value" of the Wii U that Nintendo says it's struggling to communicate.
Also, zombies playing Wii Fit is an interesting visual.

And I updated the WiiU vs.last gen thread too with new graphs. At least in the US the WiiU is adjusted down for all weeks in 2013. I think ethomaz will give more detail, I only noticed I had to go back and change numbers to make the total right.
