But it showed the market was there. They could have made Resident Evil: Revelations (for instance) for the Wii, and it probably would have sold better than the 3DS game. The market is clearly there, and people like that experience better on a console; ergo, more money for Capcom. RE4 proved that an audience was there, which was the point of Carl's post. |
RE4 didnt prove anything, again it was BUDGET game released early on in the console's life, how well would it have done had it been full price. And ill see your RE4 and raise you a No More Heroes, Madworld, Conduit, etc. There are alot less success stories out there. Just for the sake of argument lets say there was an audience, that audience still isnt as big as the one on HDs and not even close to the Dance, exercise demographic on WIi, and that is my point. Why a smaller market when you can support a bigger one? And cheaper at that?

Sure they did, more games were made for it than either PS3 or 360, fact. They might not have been the games you wanted to play, but hey thats kind of your problem.
Seems many critics are still blind. Personally , I buy nintendo consoles to play , guest what ....

Its kind of their problem. We're here, and we've proven that we buy games that aren't niche or shit (which is where your No More Heroes, Conduit, Madworld examples fall flat). They're the ones that are either too dim or too stubborn to reach out to us.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Conduit was niche? Those games were shit? According to who? You? Me? Funny because i remember prior to those games releasing, most people here were swearing that those games would do a mil each. Funny how that didnt happen. FYI I agree those games were bad, but I would also say the JD games, Game party Carnival etc, were bad games and they did well. And guess what kind of games were made on WIi as a result?
its not Nintendo's fault. Well its is. Sometimes I think that 3rd party games can't compete with the 1st party games. Since Nintendo is a HUGE company they can make and publish tons of games every year and that kinda leaves the 3rd party games in the dust. thats just what i think though.
I did my part. I bought BOTH Resident Evil rail-shooters, AND the RE4 re-release, AND the Okami port, AND EVEN the Dead Rising...thing. I aced those tests. I aced those tests like a badass.
Consumers are never at fault.. Unless they like, cburn down a major manufacturing plant or something.
Businesses have the responsibility to sway consumers, not the other way around.

Then explain Umbrella Chronicles. Both it and RE4 sold well, both with test games from Capcom, and were Wii owners rewarded with a real RE game? Nope, just Darkside Chronicles.
