Forums - Website Topics - Moderator Announcement: Posting in a locked thread MAY result in Moderation

Unfortunately, you would never know if someone is posting in an extremely old, locked thread. Hypothetically speaking, there could be dozens of people posting in a particularly normal locked thread from 2007...perhaps discussing infiltration strategies. This could be happening as we speak. And you would never know.

When locked threads are posted in they dont re-appear in the hot topics for normal users, but they do (re-appear in the hot topics) for mods.

YEEEEEEEEEEES

If you're that adamant about it, wouldn't you think they should rather fix it?

The moderators aren't coders and are not capable of fixing site issues themselves

Trollian is a site admin.

I sometimes leave tabs open for a while before eventually responding due to the fact that I'm multitasking and don't always have the time to respond right away. I don't like this new ruling because I feel like there won't be an adequate enough way to distinguish users who posted legitimately vs. those who abused it.

I'd be fairly upset if I was moderated for unintentionally breaking a rule due to VGC's unresolved bugs.

And no, I'm not just saying this to be "that guy." I have accidentally posted in locked threads a few times before due to the fact that I had them opened from before they were locked.

And he's not a coder, to the best of my knowledge.

The last time we had an admin who could and did actively tinker with board code was TalonMan, I think.

There should be a period of grace for 1 hour after a thread is originally locked. After that, posts should result in moderation.

OOh, right you are! He's a quiet one, though.

Spurge choose your battles bro. It's not like this is a big deal honestly.
