I like: That he was in Mad Max and The Road Warrior.

I dislike: That he was in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (one of the worst sequels that I have ever seen).

Braveheart! I love that movie.

I don't really know any reason to dislike the guy. That was one of the best actor/producer/director roles ever seen.

I love that he is directing historical films with period languages (Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto). And Braveheart (together with Apocalypto) is one of my favorite films of all time.

What I dislike about Mel Gibson is his humorous style of acting. I much prefer him as a director.
