Forums - Gaming Discussion - Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers (Dynasty Warriors/Musou spinoff)

lol, good thing I reneged after remembering the fighting game. But is this the fighting game?

So uh, guess Persona is home to PS for good. Look forward to SMTV instead I guess.

Wow, all that talk for months with port begging and Joker dlc...blah blah. Now it's finally all settled. Time to move on.

Man I'm so happy that this is finally over. Seriously was getting tired of the port begging. I know I sound like an ass saying that, but I just wanted Switch to either get it or not. This settles it.

I tried FE Warriors, got to the end, and couldn't finish it. Didn't hold my interest. Am I wasting my time getting this game? Yes. Am I still going through with it? Yes. Between royal and this, I wonder what is next for P5. Also, P5 is still coming to the switch. It's only a matter of time now.

Because the DQXI release for Switch is titled like that.

That is Square enix. This is Atlus. One's company practices should not be used for another.

Sure. But one is called Dragon Quest XI S, the other was supossed to be Persona 5 S. Not really hard to see why a lot of folks thought it would be a release of the main game on Switch.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I also thought the S stands for Switch, honestly. I think both of you have a point.

Personally, I am not too dissapointed that there seems to be no Switch version coming since I could always get it on the PS4 if I wanted to. At the same time, I can understand the dissapointed many others may feel.

This musou game probably won't light the world on fire on either system, I guess. 300k LT combined.

It'll be funny see this thread when we get a oersona 5 switch port announcement. Swallowing all this cockness seeing your exclusive getting "impure" with a nintendo version will be a great show.

If you think someone was cocky and you want to call them out, quote them. Who are you referring to?
Don't try to start a flame war with generalized insults like this.

The guy is just salty and its pretty obvious.

On Topic:

Considering that Nintendo is getting all sorts of Persona 5 related games (Q and now this), i would think its only fair if we start getting some Shin Megami Tensei related games... but i wont be port begging for said games because i simply absolutely hate the act of port begging, i have to wonder if the people who begged for P5 for years will finally buy a PS3, 4 or 5 to play the game or if they will just simply ignore it from now on, even though a lot of them acted like they were bigger fans of the game than those who actually played it, (ive seen a lot of people like that especailly on Gematsu).

I doubt i will buy Scramble since i just find that genre particularly boring, its the type of game i would likely buy if we werent sorrounded by so many other amazing games that i rather spend my time on.

That looks pretty nifty.

Still don't get why anyone assumed that "S" meant "Switch". That was a reach to start with.

Yeah, that assumption was not much. I hoped that the extended version (which turned out to be Royal) would be coming to Switch too. Well, not happening. A pity.

To be fair though, atlus is not taking advantage of switch's absolute DOMINENCE in Japan. With Vita out of the picture there is a VERY big audience that they are just not getting to.
I mean P4G sold almost TWICE as much as P4, and p2 and p3's psp ports also sold significantly more than the original console versions. Every persona game has had a portable port.

Does he have a point though?
I told him this earlier, but he either didn't see my comment or ignored it.

Dragon Quest XI S received a subtitle to highlight that it's an enhanced version with a lot of additional content that separates it from the original 2017 game in a substantial way.

But if Atlus were to announce a P5 port to Switch around this time, it would naturally be the same game as Royal. Which is why people didn't think they'd give the same game two different titles. A couple of potential Nintendo DLC costumes wouldn't warrant a name change.

Well, if we thought about such details, sure, then you are right. But both him and I fell for a very easy cognitive trap.

1. It's a game with a capital S in the title
2. The Switch exists, its name begins with a capital S
3. The game is coming to the Switch!

It's the same like saying that I have skin, and potatoes also have skin, therefore I must be a potato lol. We fell for it. It's true that the S could stand for anything and we just liked to think the simplest solution. Because hey, we can all agree that this game could run on the Switch and that it would fit with the portable aspect. We wished this to be the Switch version because there are signs pointing at a logical decision.

I'm not sure about that point though.

I din't ignore it, but let's be aware that at one point we didn't know what either Royal or now this thing were going to be. R could've been the enhanced edition for PlayStation systems and S for Switch, scheduled to release after R and thus the name change. Who knows. On top of that, people also were ignorant of what you say or simply short sighted: Persona 5 S, ok Dragon Quest XI S exists, therefore P5S is the Switch version! That's exactly what I saw.
