Plenty of times in my dreams and who knows how often in video games.

But for me it was passing into a coma in the middle to end of last year, Hypoglycemia (diabetes low sugar level) had set in pretty bad, my low sugared brain figured the thing to do would be put my head down and rest.... woke up 6-8 hours later in ER having docs calling my name out... remember hearing it called as "Victor" so I corrected them to a lot of shock that I was awake again, then continued to answer loads of questions wrong regarding the day/date/year but that's just me I think lol.

Fucking hurt after once I found out what happened though, my heart rate dropped to the region of 20bpm so they had been doing chest compression's while I was out, the bruising on my ribs and diaphragm took weeks to recover from, was home in bed by 6am the following morning and then when I woke up was peeling off the EKG stickers from around my body when I found them.... was rather scary stuff.

On asking the docs about it, they said that I would likely have recovered from it if I had not been found... but there is a chance that I would have continued to decline and pass away given my heartrate and sugar levels at the time, apparently from that condition the chance of dying is 5% so I had a 1 in 20 chance to just fall asleep and stay there.

I died almost twice. Both times my mother saved me:

She had the strong feeling she needed to induce me a week befor birth. I was born with a knot in my umbilical cord. The doctors told her that if I would have been born later I either would have died or would have been mentally handicapped.

When I was four years old I was getting into too deep water. I was drowning but my mother saved me.

I literally owe her my life!

Every child does...

I had skin cancer on my back and noticed it only by chance. If it had gone untreated for some months more it might have spread into essential organs.

You would be dead without realising it. It surely is a strange experience, yet knowing it is far stranger.

In the end it is like falling asleep without knowing when you fell asleep. Death in this kind of sense is the same.

I'm feeling really curious about what happens next. My bet is, you will move on to another living organism without knowing what happened to the last one. Question is, what kind of medium would cause that.

It was incredibly peaceful I felt zero pain until I was bought back to life in the ER.

If you wanted a painless death you could ask a type 1 diabetic friend for some insulin and have them give it to you until your body shuts down (a non diabetics liver would try to combat it by releasing glycogen but injecting enough as you pass into a coma would overpower your liver for sure)

It did just feel like a dream until I heard Victor heh.

regarding what happens next? You sprout all forms of shit from your decaying body and you rot away into the earth. Why would "you" pass on to anything else? do you have that ability while you're perfectly healthy? why would your body gain superpowers when it's on fire... or being compacted in a garbage press, or shot out into space. This makes no sense, just fantasy to get over the fear of death.

I almost got hit by a truck when I was crossing a big road. All cars stopped for me, so I rode over the crosswalk with my bike. But apparently, that guy in the truck was like "Why are all these cars stopping? I'm not going to wait for a stupid crosswalk!" So he passed the other cars (it was a road with two lanes). I didn't see him at first, because it was in a bend, but luckily I noticed him just in time.

I probably wouldn't have died, since he wasn't driving fast, but I'd still have been heavily injured I think.

Maybe being stabbed with a screwdriver. Thankfully I was with a friend and 4 blocks from an emergency room, but it was kinda scary. Uncharted waters and all that. Plus, I had always been taught that being stabbed was bad for you. That lead into a semi-related 10 day hospital stay about a week later, with an unreal virus that came pretty close to killing me. I There were some crazy substance abuse instances from 17-18 years ago that were pretty rough at the end of the night. Needed to sleep so bad, but couldn't because all the various things I'd partaken in were still doing their thing. Was close to getting hit by cars a few times, and actually was hit when I was 6, but it wasn't life threatening.

When I was 7 or maybe 8 I was in a store with my father and at that age I loved running around and that day I was sucking on a big licorice chunk of candy, the type that is hard and that you can't chew. Well with my running around and stuff I swallowed it and big as it was it got stuck in my throat. I can't say how much time passed as everything around me became surreal. I could breathe somehow but barely and I was thinking that it was going to be the end...

Then my body reacted and I threw up and the big chunk of licorice candy came out. I did not die that day but I got a scare I remember to this day.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

When I was almost 5 I ran into the road following another child and was hit by a car, spent my 5th birthday in hospital and the man who hit me gave me lots of presents although he was completely without fault.

A few years ago someone messed with the tyre pressures on my bike, releasing some pressure. It caused my bike to skid while a articulated lorry was passing. Luckily the road was bending to the right not left so I skidded off the road rather than under the articulated lorry. At first I thought it was a slow puncture but by leaving the bike in the back of my estate car where no one could get to it I realized I didn't have a slow puncture at all and someone had messed with my tyre pressures. I'm sure if I had died no one would have realized it was effectively a murder or manslaughter and they would have got off scot-free. I had my suspicions who did it but was never sure. Not that I think they intended for me to die purely as something to annoy/upset me. Taught me never to under-estimate the mindless stupidity of human beings and how little they think ahead about the consequences of their actions.
