if he hasn't been banned for it, then one of two things happened, either he didn't do it, or nobody reported it. he and I used to butt heads regularly back when I was an active member and even then he rarely said anythingthing that warrented a ban. He came darn close, but never crossed that line. 

We (the mods) even have a dedicated page for the "Hot Users".
(Includes all kinds of moderations, so it may include double or overturned moderations for some users)

I highlighted the already permabanned users. Now do you really think we should also permaban some of our most contributing users such as ethomaz, VGKing, happydolphin, kowenicki, S.T.A.G.E. and man-bear-pig ?

(I didn't mention M.U.G.E.N since the last two moderations were requested)

@first bolded, I dont have an issue with this. But if this "great" user is regularly loosing their cool or insulting other users, or clearly has some sort of agenda then this user isnt as great as we think they are. Someone from the MOD team needs to address it directly either by a serious warning or something. Otherwise its like a free for all.

@second bolded, here is where i completely disagree. Your basically implying that repeat offenders who do add to this site gets some sort of leniency towards them. In fact whether you implied it or not its irrelevant, because we all know it happens. This should never be the case. Special treatment is never the answer. And like i said if you have something in place to address the issue then long standing members will learn not to break the rules.

Just wanted to make something else clear about my original point: Having a long ban history doesnt necessarily mean that user should have been permabanned etc. But if this behaviour happend from week to week or month to month over a prolonged perioud of time then something needs to happen irrespective of that users post count, thread creation rate or general awesomeness. I think its a more than reasonable suggestion and you guys should look into some sort of way of dealing with it. Maybe not my solution but something that also addresses the problem. The mod team would first have to all agree that there is a problem though and im not sure what their stance is on that.Some people are perfectly happy with the way things are now.

Personally i feel the community is on a downward trajectory, and im not talking about the usual  "OMG this place was awesome in 07" arguments. Im talking about the actual discussions and how they progress from OP to last post. Its not pleasant if your an active member on the forums. And i think we can all agree that there are a lot of members that are leaving because of this. Funnily enough if you go and have a look at those threads and try and find out what/who was the cause of this shitstorm that went on here.....you will find the same people that are on your monthly ban reports at the heart of the issue. Its as clear as day to me.

Depending on the type of moderation ofcourse. But lets take Ethomaz as an example...

Lets say all 8 of Ethomaz's bans was because of blatant trolling...(obviously its not im just trying to make an example) then by all means, he needs to go irrespective of hes contribution.

And to be honest these users will not appear so frequently on the ban list if they know they will get permabanned. Just because people contribute by creating threads and posting does not give them the right to disobey forum rules. Its a very weak argument.

Edit: When i said "he needs to go", it doesnt necessarily mean instant permaban. But just anything to make it clear to them what they are doing, and if they do it again they will get permabanned. Otherwise nothing will really come of the moderation. It will get to a point where certain users are unbannable because of their contribution. Thats ridiculous. This community is waaaaay bigger than 6 very active posters/thread creators.

You post your opinion about me, on multiple occassions, which I told you I find insulting. You play the innocent by pretenting that your comments aren't offensive. They are, I've told you I find them offensive and rude. So here's my advice to you. Get over yourself. You're going run into people you don't like all the time. Deal with it. There are a few other users I'm not too fond off in this forum. I usually ignore them when they post a stupid reply I find annoying. Guess I have to add you to my list. Add me to yours. 

The top 4 on that list have something similar eh?

I'm assuming this includes warnings? Because I know I didn't get banned 7 times.....

No, insulting will result in moderation. Saying your opinion in a respectful manner, without trolling or flaming, will not.

Believe it or not, Carl was not insulting you. Just because you got offended with it does not mean that it was insulting. If we moderated people whenever someone else was offended by that person, there would be virtually no-one left on this site.

If you really don't want people to get in long debates where they call you out, then simply reply that they can PM you and leave it at that. You don't have to reply to any of those posts if you don't want to.
