Forums - Gaming Discussion - Criticise your favourite game!

I want to see you tear apart your favourite games, because only that way can you appreciate just how much you love them :)

I'll start off with my favourite game, Pokemon Gold/Silver

1. The trainers hardly use any strategy at all

2. The Elite 4 is too easy

3. Forcing your Pokemon to learn rubbish HM moves just to access certain areas sucks

4. Why can't I catch a Celebi?!

5. Kanto was missing a lot of pieces

6. Johto is almost a ghost town in some areas

Don't hold back!

Halo 4:

WTF is with the Covenant AI on Level 2 on Normal difficulty?! You ever planning on shooting back?!?!
WTF is with the re-used enviroment in Spartan Ops?! 4 more couldn't fecking hurt!
Why no mofo Campaign matchmaking?!?!

More later perhaps.

Zelda: The Windwaker

1:F*cking Wind change

2:Easy enemies

3:Easy bosses

4:It felt "uncompleted" because the third dungeon was missing

5:Triforce search, srsly wtf Nintendo,

Still 95/100 and a piece in my heart ;)

Sry for my bad english, it´s not my first language.

Btw: FIRST POST ON VGCHARTZ.
*epic moment*

Halo 4

You have to have XBL Gold to access Spartan Ops even if you play it single player, local, or split screen. It doesn't make any sense. You can play the multiplayer without Gold, but you can't play Spartan Ops.

I also wish you could download and install the Spartan Ops cut scenes and terminal videos. My internet connection isn't good enough to stream them in HD so I have to download them from Youtube and watch them on my computer.

Other than that, Halo 4 is pretty much perfect. And these are pretty minor complaints as it is.

Super Mario RPG: The legend of the Seven Stars

-The Sountrack is a relatively weak during battles.
-Only 6 special moves to learn, with Geno only getting 5 and Bowser 4 moves.
-The Jonathan Jones dungeon is a bitch to play through everytime.
-No replayability right away, but very fun to come back to after a few years.
-Missed out on a lot of potential party members (Luigi, Yoshi)
-NO FUCKING SEQUEL AFTER 10+ YEARS.

mass effect 3 - I guess the ending. If it wasnt for the internet I probably wouldnt of thought anything of it. it wasnt even that bad

Chrono Trigger is a bit on the brief and the easy side, and when analyzed, the story begins to show weaknesses.

Love and tolerate.

Deus Ex ((the original one)

The gunplay
having level up a pistol skill  to shoot a barn in front of you is annoying,
voice acting is horrible.
ending (most games like this share a similar fate for some reason).

However the VA's are still amusing.

Starcraft: Brood War

The camaign story is not nearly as cool as the original Starcraft story.

The graphics are outdated. (even at the time)

No new faction, (UED were planned but got scrapped)

Unit AI is stupid at times.

Some units are underutilized in the multiplayer metagame (Ghost, Queen, Dark Archon)

No ladder play on Battle.net anymore :(

But I love it anyway

I LOVE ICELAND!

Metroid Prime (GameCube - Not the Trilogy version which was a slight improvement)

- Should have combined the map and inventory screens in order to free up the Z button for some hypothetical easy lock-on target switch ability. Or something.
- Needed to do away with the artifact fetch quest, or at least have the artifacts come with combat bonuses.
- The hints for the fetch quest were somewhat asinine.
- Enemy design was a bit phoned in during much of the Phazon Mines section.
- Manual aim should've never been required at any point (I hate that invisible miniboss). It is only good when trying to learn how to jump properly, or slowly turning around when you don't want to feel like you're backing Samus out of a parking space.
- Flamethrower is useless. It's not even helpful against the final boss.
- Compared to its sequels, the puzzles were a bit lacking. Way too many "look for a thingy and scan it to open a door or something" puzzles.
- Bad AI like everything else.
- Some clipping issues. No widescreen support.
- Forgot to have "this is not Halo" on the box, which would've helped put an end to ignorant comparisons made by people who didn't know that Metroid existed before Prime came out.

Not to mention a weak plot that only gains value when viewed through a microscope with a "this was an innovative storytelling method back in 2002" nostalgia-based lens.

I'm going to marry this game someday.
