Brilliant review amp.

Would also get a 5/5 from me.

Reasons and pics or you are lying.

I thought you were ignoring spurge haters?

The film was brilliant. Had the perfect blend of action and humor which Ive felt Bond lacked in the last outing. It had great acting. It had a great villain. It had great locations. It had a great story. It had plenty of nods to older Bond films, which I loved.

Im not going into detail. Im no reviewer. I just didnt see a fault with it. Quite easily my favourite movie of the Year so far.

Its a better film than both TDKR and Avengers.

Also has a better hero, villain and car.

I personally would give it a 2/5. It's a poor Bond movie and an overall boring experience.

i liked the movie, i liked the action, the pacing, the acting, just the plot could have used a bit more work to make it great.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

8/10 (Great) from me. I really enjoyed it, as it did a wonderful job bringing balance to the James Bond lore. Great nods to the old ways (the theater erupted in laughter and cheers when James revealed the Aston martin), while still staying true to the more serious and gritty take that Daniel Craig brought to the franchise.

And while Javier Bardem was terrific as the villain (loved his vocal and physical quirks), I couldn't help but think of him as a Joker-lite. Which isn't a bad thing, but that part in the story arc was too oddly similar to ignore (getting caught on purpose in order to cause havoc from within).

There's also that scene where Bond is following Patrice in the skyscraper, and watches as he snipes the Chinese man. After the shooting, the guards have no reaction whatsoever to this... and just drag him away. So if they were on the side of Patrice the whole time, why didn't they just kill him themselves? Seems like a waste of money and time...

Other than that (and the obvi-CGI komodo dragons), the movie was great. The whole Skyfall segment was great. Really refreshing actually. Loved that final arc of the movie.

Good review Amp!

Good review, but, I think perfect score is generous. It was a good film for me, but not a 5/5.

It was alright. It didn't feel like bond to me besides the little references and tidbits to the hold bond series Granted this was the first bond movie I saw from beginning to end. I have seen half of others and maybe a full one but I was too young to appreciate the movie or whatever. Not to mention, the villains are so fucking stupid. SO SO SO fucking retarded, I don't even know where to begin. Silva was this agent gone bad and was outsmarting everybody yet it never crossed his mind during the ice scene near the end to A) shoot him right as he saw him (it was 2 to 1 for fuck's sake), not to mention the grunt got way too fucking close allowing bond to retaliate. or B) wait until bond surfaced, without a weapon and kill him. It's the typical "I'm just gonna walk away without making sure he is dead" cliche and frankly it pissed me off. I can understand maybe if the villain was dying from a wound/disease but I didn't see any of that. Nevertheless, i had fun watching it and would recommend it to most.

3/5

Even though I haven't seen Skyfall yet, I've read numerous reviews (positive, negative, and mixed), read the spoilers, and watched some video clips. So I pretty much know all there is to know about Skyfall. Yes, I'll need to actually see the film in order to make a proper judgement. But from what I know so far, as well as my dislike for Casnio Royale and Quantum of Solace, I don't think I'm going to care too much for Skyfall. It might be better than the previous two, but for me, that's really not saying much.

I just don't like all this constant tinkering of the Bond formula/elements, as well as the overly dark tone. If it was something along the lines of For Your Eyes Only or the Timothy Dalton Bonds, then I could side with it. But these recent Bonds have been rather gloomy and depressing. And I just don't find Craig's Bond to be appealing at all. Again, to all those that like these new Bond films, that's perfectly fine, and I totally respect your opinion. But Bond hasn't been fun for me in long time. The last one I really enjoyed was GoldenEye, and afterwards it's been either just okay to not so great. The old Bond magic just isn't there anymore.

But I'm going to stop moaning and complaining about my classic Bond woes, and say congratulations to Amp on reviewing all the official and unofficial Bond films. You certainly put a lot of time and effort into these reviews, and they're always a pleasure to read.
