Visceral Games finds it a shame that no one bought Dead Space: Extraction

The following comes from a Visceral Games staffer, who happened to be posting on GAF...

It is a shame nobody bought this. As much as everyone made fun of Frank Gibeau's "experiment" it will actually influence the SKU plan with respect to the Wii just like he said in his interview.

I really don't get why people are avoiding this game. Does no one read the reviews or check out the footage? This is an absolutely fantastic game. There's no other on-rails shooter that comes even close to what this project pulled off. Please, leave a comment and let me know why you shied away from the title. It looks like Wii fans are going to miss out on anything like this from EA in the future.

I guess it's a shame Wii owners are not buying everything that is thrown out as a test.

Probably because it's an on-rails shooter. No matter how good it is, it's still an on-rails shooter.

I still say that at the time of decision to make this that rail shooters weren't saturated, so I can't blame them for the decision then.

But as it is there isn't much to excite gamers, and unlike Resident Evil, this isn't a name series to make it stand out. So acting as though this means the Wii gets less major support at all, based on one game, is not a good development strategy.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

It's simply unreasonable to expect a third-party game to do well on Wii JUST because it recieved high-review scores.

Didn't work for Zak and Wiki

Didn't work for Mad World

Didn't work for NMH


Just face it, most Wii game buyers (and yes, I mean the people who actually go buy games) don't read reviews.

This game is a system seller for me... I'm waiting until Christmas to buy a Wii for this game alone.

Unless there's an announcement of bringing the game onto the PS3 using the motion controls
