Hmm didn't they increase the price for the Wii in the UK? since it was way cheaper then the rest of Europe?

Could be that less people import it from the UK and instead buy a Wii in their own country.

Wii Music is crap because its metacritic score is so low (%63), not because it sold so poorly.

but the HD consoles had GTA4 last year.....the biggest entertainment launch ever & PS3 had MGS4......yet their sales have gone up YOY/stayed constant

The PS3 and X360 had plenty of medium level games this year to get the job done: Yakuza 3, Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil 5, FFXIII demo, Infamous, Killzone 2, Halo Wars, and even UFC.

your saying wii's down in the UK due to "same price" & no SSBB/Mk Wii/Wii Fit

I'm saying, well PS3 is also at the same price it was last year & it had MGS4/GTa4 but its same

@Darth: UK then. You're right that PS3 and 360 are the same price in UK, but what you failed to notice, is that they're the same price only for people in UK and trade in pounds. In the same way Wii price is up in the UK only for people in UK and trade in pounds.

A year ago, PS3 imported from UK, had been 100€ more expensive than it is today. Importing pays off. Even the retailers on other countries are getting their consoles from UK at the moment (aside from Wii).

360 Arcade is relatively by far the cheapest current gen console in UK at the moment, that you can have your PES, George of the Jungle, Harry Potter and FIFA just as well.

What does VGC show YoY for Europe/others as a whole?

Lat year HD consoles were over 120K per week each, now they're at 50-70k a week each. That's about a 50-60% drop YoY. So they are also feeling the pain as well

2008 to 2009 compared within the UK ONLY

using GFK data

NOT VGC data

Just ignore him darth.

He obviously cant handle the fact his precious Wii/DS arent doing so well in a certain place.

Cant argue with the numbers im afraid. And they are plain and easy for all to see.
