Has the bubble burst yet?

Not burst as much as slowly deflated

NPD sales

may 2008 - 675000, 2009 - 289000

june 2008 - 666000, 2009 - 361000

Massive, crippling recession in the UK, with unemployment at record high + console reaching it's mid-point in life, + summer = horrendous sales drop-off. It really doesn't worry me at all as a Wii owner and Nintendo fan.

Christmas should see some good numbers again, as it's simply such a popular Christmas thing, even more so than PS360.... plus Nintendo still have new colours, a price cut and even a redesigned Wii up their sleeves if they need to pull them out.

For those that are unawares I assume this thread was resurrected in light of the recent Chart Track announcement. Given the recent change of fortunes the Wii has undergone in Japan and Chart Track's about face on their Wii data.....looks like the bubble will have to wait a little longer.

Credit to ioi for sticking to his guns and being right.

What is going on with the PS3 in Japan though? It is less than 2K ahead of the 360, and the PS3+360
