Yes the 360 can handle it, but not the disc space.

Killzone 2 was in development around 3 years, so what? That isn't a very long dev time for a game of this gen. IYO, it brings nothing new to the table, doesn't mean it did or it didn't, some will agree and some won't. End of the day, the 360 and PS3 were neck and neck visually until Killzone 2 hit. I found more bashing of the game due to this rather than any respect to it, despite if people favored or didn't favor it's content, which is rather sad. Gamers this gen are ungrateful, period. A game of Killzone 2's prowess was only an imagination in previous generations. Now we have the power to do so, why can't it be credited for that, as Gears of War was in 2006 when it WOWED the gaming community. Killzone 2 did this in 2009, people can either choose to accept it, or hate it, but it won't change what ACTUALLY happened. Of course they'll be games to WOW us again this gen, and for genereations to come, as it should be. We should be happy and grateful for whatever the industry has to offer, after all, if gamers are unhappy, despite the hard work of these developers, why should they even bother to continue to try to WOW us? As it seems, we're still not satisfied. my $0.02... |
Excellent post.

That's probably why Rage is 60fps and sandbox and not that first gen la-de-da of 30fps like those other games.
I really don't know what Sony are going to do.
| BxN said: Because you've played both games on high res HD tvs and compared them ? Really ? |
Really more like compared the graphics, noted Rage's looked better, saw the superiorty on the tech side (60fps- which alone would be enough to outdo it, but they kept going with the split-screen and the lighting and the free-roaming aspect) and come to the rather obvious conclusions.
There's really nothing wrong with it, ID are Tech gods...hell they design engines for a living, it's no surprise it's the avant' gard for current generation visuals. They just aimed for a bar much higher then anyone else. Usually if you want a 'bar settin' game you need to be:
30fps
linearity
no split-screen
Rage is none of those. I really don't know how Sony are going to mandate all PS3 exclusive must be 60FPS+ look better than Rage+ split-screen etc, because if their exclusives can't top a cross-platform game, it really is all lies.
| Taz! said: @ RAZ You fail. Heavy Rain is better looking than RE5, period |
If anything it looks worse:

Somehow I don't think the extra year + exclusivity + lack of split-screen is doing much for HR's visuals. Hell Re 5 won't even be current then, it's be all Lost Planet 2 baby.
| Steroid said: Gears of War is better looking then RE5. Why do people always talk about RE4.5 like it's the king of anything? |
IGN gave RE5 a 9.5 in the visuals department, the same as Gears of War 2 and Killzone 2..after they were released. Perhaps it's rather obvious and RE5, despite not being exclusive to any particular platform, still managed to be one of the most technically accomplished titles of this generation.
| CGI-Quality said: What does my sig have to do with your one-sided nature? |
Well when you ask me to explain how Heavy Rain has been downgraded - a pretty shared opinion if you've followed it at all since 2006, especially given the recent footage that jerks like a $2 hooker - there's nothing I can really say, no matter how truthful it may be that's likely to convince you otherwise with that sig.
| CGI-Quality said: It's hard to take someone serious when all they've EVER done is criticize. |
Perhaps Sony and partners should levy more control over their claims of visuals being only possible on certain systems, despite masses of evidence to the contrary and there would be less to critiscise.
Still if saying the cream of the PC crop like Crysis 2 and Rage is still met with "PS3 xcluseeevs is teh bettar gorphix" it's probably isn't based on comprehending a cogent reality. Sadly PS3 fanboys are always at an advantage in this case, as they don't feel a need to make sense.
umm...brink is multiplatform. Why the big deal?
@RAZ.
When did Rage release? , and why do you think ps3 games run in 30 FPS?.
did you even play Wipeout? , its even a downloadable game, why did you pick Rage exactly? , it doesn't look that good in my opinion , Motorstorm 1 tops it in visuals.

Sigh, are you kidding me. It was determined that MGSIV looked better than Uncharted, then Gears 2 came in and beat MGSIV, and now K2 is graphics king. There is no possible reason to see why anyone would still put Uncharted in the league with other games that have better graphics. I don't like to come off this way but, it seems like PS3 fanboys only mention Uncharted 'cause that was probably the first game to actually have outstanding graphics at it's time. So don't kid yourself there's been quite a few games on 360 that are better than Uncharted, no offense but found it a bit funny that you brought that game up. |
MGSIV isnt on the xbox 360, and gears 2 is an overrated mess when it comes to graphics, and thank you for calling me a ps3 fanboy, as you can see I have gears 2, and Ive played through the entire game thank you very much, and UNCHARTED has better graphics than most games out at the moment, if you dare say RE5 has better visuals I will laugh.

Gears 2 never was better looking the MGS4. Gears 2 barely looked better then Gears 1. Fission mailed.

2010 early- mid.
| PullusPardus said: and why do you think ps3 games run in 30 FPS?

I believe that's the framerate of Killzone 2 & Uncharted 2...this is about 1/2 of Rage.
| PullusPardus said: why did you pick Rage exactly?

It's considered to be the "new" Crysis and that it visually and technologically has no equal...until Doom 4. Why should I bother with anything else?
| PullusPardus said: Motorstorm 1 tops it in visuals. |
Perhaps they look similar in the racing bits, to all other titles it's...i guess you could say if the best looking games right now were Splinter Cell 1, Rage would be the Xbox version of Chaos Theory.
I thought people already dismissed the credibility of hiphopgamer's claims?
| Zkuq said: @Slimebeast: Well, at least it's heavily modified - judging by what we've seen so far, even more than ETQW (the first iT4 game to feature huge, open environments + MegaTexture) and the new Wolfenstein (seems pretty bland to me, although as a Wolfenstein fan I'll probably try to check it out anyway). Also, isn't CoD4's engine still the same old id Tech 3 they've been using since the first CoD? Of course it's heavily modified and all... And while I'm not entirely sure of it, that's what I've read so far. My point is that if iT3 can be modified to look good on current hardware, why couldn't the more recent iT4 be modified to look even better? |
No, CoD4 MW used his own engine.
So Im still a lil afraid that Brink's grafix will look outdated if it's using the Doom 3 engine in 2010.
