You nintendo fans cant wait till you get an HD wii ha?

I can't wait for Ninty games on their next-gen. console but I can wait for MS and Sony games on their next-gen. consoles. :)

Same as i buy Wii on 1st day sales and wait almost 2 years before buy PS3(and i buy it because my parents need new movies player ,gaming just a profit.)

No one will argue that nintendo fans have a hardcore gamer following...they have been in busines for over 20 years now making Mario, Zelda,Metroid...etc games every generation...so they must be doing something right.

Sony has that too with the Playstation brand...and Microsoft is gaining theirs now. Next gen will be very interesting.

LOL. First of all I have the wii. And if wii 2 doesn't suck, I will have that as well...

Secondly, Nintendo won't even copy what they did this generation, why would sony and microsoft? If they wanted motion controls they would have done it already. The whole reason nintendo is not HD is because they could not afford anymore to play ball with the big boys and were forced to come up with something else...which paid of for them...with interest.

So now that they can afford it finally, nintendo can release something that is technologically competitive next gen and they may possibly get ports of Resident Evils, Final Fantasy, GTA and other industry leading 3rd party games...

Lastly, Nintendo did plenty of copying back in the day with Sega being more innovative since the get go...and then Sony showing them the ropes. I wouldn't get my hopes up too high for more innovation from the big N for a while.

@Disolitude
They will be attempt to copy the wii mote next generation, in what degree I have no idea, will it be exactly the same, most likely not. Does that mean both sony and microsoft will copy? Again most likely not.

Even with the idea of sixasix existing before hand, it was announced until after the wiimote was announced, and it went the way of the virtual console.

I honestly think if microsoft makes a solid profit this generation and actually puts their whole gaming division in the green, than they will stick with normal controller for the most part. 'why change something if it isn't broken"

I honestly don't see how sony is going to go back in the green, at this point. Especially if the price drop in march is true. So they might try to adapt to wiimote type device, which might payoff, might not.

lol I really don’t get that so you mean they will not be innovative for a wile yet they will not copy and improve what they have now? So they will go back to regular controllers?

And why MS and Sony will copy them? That’s an easy one, because they are successful!

And no I don’t think it is because they couldn’t afford it, they wanted to make it easy for developers to make games at the same time as they were implementing Wiimote stuff. You see if it was HD it would cost more and there for make it more intimidating for developers to jump on.

?

When Nintendo copy what they did? They make another Mario 1-3?

Use same mascotts mean Copy?Super Mario Galaxy got same look and 2D world?

Blue Ocean's a copy from Nintendo last generation?

Improvement is different from copy

Same as Playstaion improve their controller that base on SNES controller.Or you want me to say Sony copy controller from Nintendo?

And if Nintendo want to improve things from their own console that successful in this generation, why can't they did?

Btw, i can't remember. But Sony didn't create Sixaxis after Nintendo released their news about Wiimote?

I think Sony may need to trim some talent...shed some weight...but they will eventually be profitable in gaming again. They may be profitable this quarter due to ps3 price still being 399. I am more worried about their business model. Being a hardware company and releasing new hardware with bundled technology to make profit seems outdated at this point.

Nintendo on the other hand has lots of money now...i really wonder how they will use it in the future. DS will soon need a real replacement...Wii HD is a possibility. Or they could do something else completely off the wall. Exciting...

I said the same thing, and i heard that it the old boomerang controler was gonna be motion sensor,so.......Idk i could be wrong.

@Disolitude: Turn the Wii Remote sideways. There's your NES controller.

There are a number of reasons why M$ and Sony haven't introduced their Wii Remote equivalents (well, outside Sixaxis), maybe not the least reason the crying and whining it would create. Besides, since either aren't leading the market, it would be a little too blantant ripoff. Besides, they have no games for their equivalents.
At the moment, M$ is in much better position than Sony to release a Wii Remote ripoff, due to lower pricepoint of their console. If PS3 would have similar controller, who would be buying the console, that aren't willing to buy it at the moment. Wii is cheaper. Only thing Sony would show is, that you'd get the same, but cheaper with the Wii. Besides, Wii already has the momentum and it's very hard to kill, so the controller ripoffs wouldn't necessarily do much good.

Nintendo could have afforded the "arms race", but it wouldn't fit their strategy. They are playing the disruption, which basically needs a product like Wii is (and they want the profit margins).

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

I'd love for nintendo to innovate and improve their future console even more...but they have motion controls going for them now. We most likely will see an improvement in graphics, motion control sensor possibly...but I don't see nintendo deviating too far from the Wii with their next gen console...especially if Sony and MS decide not to follow that route.

Take a look at the DSi... I still don't know what nintendo is thinking there. possibly they are buying time until they figure out something else but to me that seems like a rehash.

I really can't imagine MS copying nintendo however. They are profitable, and have their own thing going for them now...a reputation...PC in a console... for them to go the nintendo route would be an equal shock to their core gamers as it would to nintendo fans if Mario was made in to a porno game.
