If Square Enix did indeed announce the game for PC why did nobody else at the event report it except this one website? Not even 1UP or IGN which you would think would have reported it to readers of the PC section of their websites.

Yes...
I'm pretty sure they'll release it on PC as well but only after the release of the console versions. They have no reason not to since they've been developing the game on PC and the PC version is probably pretty easy to make then. Making it won't probably cost too much and even with high piracy rates they're bound to get some money.
However, they might still not release it on PC. The same case as with exclusives; it's not always about money. Maybe they want to keep Final Fantasy a console title... Or maybe they don't like PC... Or maybe they think PC players would like some changes (interface and such - remember Oblivion?) (in which they would be right). Or maybe there's some other reason.

Says here it's definitely PC bound, but after viewing Kotaku's liveblog again, I don't get that feeling.
It's definitely being developed on the PC, but there has been no official announcement of a retail FFXIII on the PC. I'm guessing it will come, but after the consoles by a half year or so I bet.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
i dont think it will get released on PC,but it could though

Ignoring FF11 since it is an MMO, FF7 and FF8 were ported to PC, so it isn't like they are stepping into unknown terriory. That said, you are correct in the fact that they still may not do a PC release for all sorts of reasons.
Well, if it does end up being released on the PC, I just saved myself ten future-dollars.

Wow if that games is on PC. That's one more reason why PS3 or Xbox 360 is useless to me.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...
For SE's sake I hope they sell the PC version until a year later from home system's versions, the piracy could take a lot of money for SE on the PC version if this get released along 360/PS3 ones.

I doubt it...piracy hardly affects multiplatform PS3/360/PC releases any different from delayed PC releases.
