This is an instant buy for me. I can't wait to see this (and all the other Nintendo surprises) tomorrow.
Currently Playing: Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Smash Bros for Wii U
Predictions:
Super Mario Galaxy will pass Super Mario 64 in total sales CORRECT!

I only own the Wii, I LOVE IT and yet I totally totally agree with you!!!!!!!! |
I kind've agree as well. When the Wii's controls were first shown off, I actually expected 1:1 controls.
When I got the Wii, I discovered they were far from 1:1.
I still love it, though. :P
Nintendo had this way back in 2005,

They knew sony and m$ would copy them with wii-mote. So they released just the wii-mote and waited for the others to copy and then release this small attachment and bam "Can your guys do this? NO, better luck next time"

They were thinking about it:) So Nintendo released it any way, to let them know "Step back bitches"

Probably the latter. I mean so far Nintendo has packed their peripheals in a game everytime. It's just which one now. |
I'm banking on Star Fox myself, but i've been proven wrong before. I'm very excited about this.
Don't be surprised if in 6-12 months, all Wiimotes come with this built-in. Seems like an obvious upgrade path.
I think Ninty are being really sneaky & smart about all this. Imagine in 2(?) years time, as the Wii tech starts to date - Ninty brings out a "Wii HD" - fully compatible with all Wii peripherals, supporting all Wii titles, with 4Gig (internal) memory, upscaling tech for older games...
...for $199US (just for the unit).
By splitting the controllers & hardware, and putting more of the tech into controllers - it makes this sort of upgrade path very possible.
