Forums - Gaming - CDPR's good will remaster of The Witcher 3 will backfire.

Remaster at 30 FPS...

Deal breaker 1 20.00%

I'll still play though I'm not happy 1 20.00%

I'm okay with it 1 20.00%

I can play at 30 FPS, no bother 2 40.00%

I hold no opinions. 0 0%

They have it at 30 FPS. I love TW3 but I suspect a Warcraft 3 moment here. People, myself included, love the game so much that changes will feel out of place. Even if it's a smooth 30 I smell trouble. I went from excitement to hesitation really fast yesterday upon learning the 30 FPS cap.

Knowing CDPR they'll fix everything in time but knowing their launches I have gotten myself into worry. At the very least the saves won't break but they could break a number of other things. My worry is my current playthrough will become a beta test for Songs of the Past.

Thought?

Explain why 30 fps is a problem...

Is the gameplay deeply impacted by being 30 fps?

...no

Is the story impacted by being 30 fps?

...no

Is the over all playability of the game impacted by being 30 fps?

...no

Are you jumping on this stupid internet trend that anything below 60 fps is unplayable?

...yes

But please do explain why 30 fps is a problem...

...I'm waiting.

I mean 30fps would be awful... But it doesn't run at 30fps?

Pretty sure it has 60fps modes in PS5/Xbox. It's probably 30FPS RT mode and 60FPS performance mode like the current Witcher 3 release on PS5 is.

PS5 pro runs at 60fps in RT mode and 90fps in performance mode.

Switch 2 targets 720p 40fps handheld and 1080p 40fps docked if connected to a 120HZ TV.

Frame rate can impact clarity sometimes during intense or even normal combat gameplay.  It xan make a huge difference when fighting multiple enemies, though i need to play it to test.

It needs motion blur to prevent camera jitters, that makes you feel sick. There is a trail in the background that makes one feel ill. Combat doesn't feel as smooth and I have been killed at 30 fps by no fault of mine. It causes eye strain and numerous other unwanted effects, like a feeling of neuesa if the combat ramps up which means shorter sessions.

One can hope but I've seen multiple reports now that it's capped at 30 on base ps5 with people being unsure about the PRO.

Stayed at 30 FPS for an hour there, had to turn on motion blur to half way to smooth the camera, put on my TV's smoothing game mode and tried not to think on it. I did feel it a bit at times but the brain is adjusting better than I thought, it's a pity but it's not a deal breaker yet I hope the Remaster is a little smoother. Shouldn't have to feel eye strain like this.

Pretty sure it has a perf mode @60 fps even on base PS5.

I've only heard something about it running at around 90FPS in VRR unlocked mode on PS5 Pro during gamescom and at least 40FPS on the Switch 2. This is absolutely not going to be capped at 30

@VersusEvil @beskidMac Okay. I didn't research this thread properly but I can only find reports of the Next Gen Patch. Could you show the remastered reports of 60fps on base PS5? And if so, mods close the thread.
