Remaster at 30 FPS...

I'll still play though I'm not happy 1 4.76%

I'm okay with it 3 14.29%

I can play at 30 FPS, no bother 9 42.86%

I hold no opinions. 2 9.52%

People complaining well enough but sure how could they have played it enough yet. I'm gonna gamble and install it anyway. Nothing seems broken and it's 60fps. The thing is, I've watched three review videos now and it's vague what is remastered on PS5. It seems more like the next gen jump than something earth shattering, in fact I like it this way, just lots of quality of Life and polishing.

I'm in simply cause of the skill tree and transmog and get plenty of tiny improvments to boot.

What made you think it was gonna be 30fps only? Almost every game on the PS5 has a 60fps mode so of course an updated version of a 2015 game will have that too. The Witcher 4 on the other hand might be so demanding it'll be 30fps only and like GTA 6 I hope it does end up pushing the current gen consoles that hard.

It was discussed by multiple people whom I thought were knowledgeable. I'm just happy they were wrong. Idk if The Witcher 4 will release on PS5/XSX, they'll probably face another Cyberpunk situation and want to avoid ... although, UE5 plus a good team can work wonders so I guess we'll see. Maybe they know they can do it with UE5. I also suspect TW4 to be smaller in scale than TW3 but here I am rambling as the youtubers I listened to saying the remaster would be 30fps. I guess time will tell us.

It instantly feels new right from when you boot it up. I'm 70 hours into a playthrough. Some reviewers see wrong, there is an instant noticeable difference in visuals. I see the difference and it's not small, though I am stuck with Yeniffer in a small area'd mission and now doing a ciri mission. Hard to tell just of yet. Picked the worst possible place to loose all my stat points. Small details and textures are massively improved. Yen and Ciri even look more advanced. Infact Ciri looks odd now, like it's not her which is weird and I don't find the change to be appreciated. Everything is brighter and has a shean to it. Foliage is just better looking. The physics feels different or maybe it's the controls. It definitely looks like it could have come out post RDR2. I gotta wait til I'm off this mission and compare all the screenshots I've taken once I can TP around to see them side by side.

It's not exactly a new game but there is a definite punch to it's visuals.

Also. I am having trouble with the controls. They are more tanky now.

Okay. Massive issue. I reloaded a save and cut the losses, instant frame pacing issues on performance mode, base PS5. When you load a new area. Like bad frame pacing, really bad. It was fine until I was in the real open world and even the camera is janky. It's way better than 30 was on the next gen patch but enough to see problems after the smooth 60 of next gen patch. It doesn't seem to last but I am worried by this.

Other things. The the skill system has unlocked all positional spaces, I find this now easier to make an OP build when I was hoping to have a more tough experience. But I can't recreate my stanima build through passives so perhaps it'll balance out.

Coming out of the menu also causes severe frame pacing. I thinknI fucked up installing this.

Oh boy. This shits terrible. After every landing screen, dialogue, loading etc. It's like playing at sub 20 fps for two or three seconds. It's sickeningly bad. Also, FPS in dialogue sequences are bad. Why the fuck do these reviewers have jobs. Such bullshit artists.

I doubt it'll be another Cyberpunk situation since all the negative press and Sony outright pulling the game from the PlayStation Store for a while will have hurt a good deal so they'll wanna avoid that happening again. At worst it'll be 30fps and have poor image quality but still function ok overall. In general late releases for the PS5 should hold up a fair amount better compared to late releases on the PS4.
