Forums - Nintendo - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launches 5th of November

@curl-6

I'll get used to it, but I would be much happier if they took a page from something like KENA or movie Tangled.

I think Link looks adorable as all hell. I like the overall look of this game. It does remind me of those Unreal 4 fan made trailers, but it works.

Art has to rub a little. Makes it more memorable. With the art style being such a discussion, sure it's not run of the mill boring.

I like it. It feels just the right amount of 'off'.

Pretty much why I never take Zelda fans seriously. Everytime they whine.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Now to see if the ReDeads and Dead Hand stay nightmarish.

Yeah Zelda series art style discourse is as old as the hills at this point, which is kinda inevitable when a series changes its look so drastically over time.

Personally the only style I never really liked was Wind Waker, the rest are all fine by me.

Not over time. They change it all the time.

I always knew they would bring their best for this remake, but it still surpassed my expectations. Like, wow... this looks better than even Star Fox, which is an on-rails shooter.

Also loved pretty much every artistic choice, except for young Zelda's face.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Yeah, it's tough.

On one side are wankers who are bound to god of Trolling and can't help not to.
On the other side plonkers who blindly follow party line of their favourite billion dollar gaming company.
Stuck in the middle folks who actually have free will to decide on wide spectrum of choices and preferences.

For me, I prefer the idea of having both.

For FF6, I love that I have the Pixel Remaster, but would love a full FF7 Remake style game as well.
For games like Ocarina of Time, for me personally, I’m not a fan of Ocarina of Time’s gameplay 3D style/structure or its derivatives, so a straight up remake would be a no-purchase for me. From a philosophical POV, I think the fans of the game would enjoy having that version, so I’m not against the idea of a straight-up remake either. It would simply just be another game that isn’t for me.

A remake for me would involve the same story and setting, the same themes, but either an HD2D Link to the Past style, or a more exploration and over-world focused game without a critical path or long-ass dungeon crawling through temples and looking for the next key/switch/puzzle to proceed with the game… something that more resembles Breath of the Wild, in other words. Off the top of my head, split the temples up into Shrines, scatter them around the biomes, and still keep the central landmarks (like the Deku tree), but have something like a divine beast before entering, and a more straight forward temple inside to the challenges, then a fun and more challenging end boss (I found Ocarina of Time bosses to be way too easy) → as I said, this by no means represents in depth thought on what I would want, just something I know (off the top of my head that) would be more enjoyable for me.

On the graphics: I like them quite a lot. This is easily my favourite looking Zelda. Would love to see a Breath of the Wild update with this level of detail.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
