*sees Young Zelda* Must protecc!!

Zelda is currently at the #1 spot on Amazon's Best Seller list in both the U.S. and Japan. Just nice to see an actual game above the Roblox gift cards for a change on Amazon U.S. I don't think even GTA6 managed that when it became available for preorder. People really wanting that limited cover + $10 off physical.

Roblox is horrible anyway. It's full of pedophiles. If I had kids I wouldn't dare let them play it. I would instead gladly introduce them to Donkey Kong Bananza, and of course the Ocarina of Time remake. Yes Ocarina of Time could give them nightmares, but still.

The 3DS remake sold well at 6 million+ lifetime. This one may pass that mark.

Then let's make sure it passes that mark.

Genuinely curious who the devs behind this are, and what engine they are using.

I assume the main Zelda team is mostly knee deep in the next mainline entry, but maybe a smaller portion of them are collaborating on this with perhaps Grezzo or Monolith Soft?

And is this their internal technology, or something third party like Unreal? If the former, it represents a pretty big jump for Nintendo's in-house tech which is interesting in terms of their future games in other franchises.

I hope it's the former.

Mystery solved. Some fans theorized the characters have a doll look on purpose. Well someone on reddit found out of a Japanese TV show. Three Musketeers. It uses dolls. One of them looks like Link. Even the clothing is similar. Knowing this I like it even more.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

@Leynos

Different strokes for different folks.

I find Links whole model rubbing me the most of everything I've seen in footage, especially when he's in Hyrule Town, compared against NPCs and surrounding - apart from his face (my wife, who knows almost nothing about Zelda - "she's so cute...what do you mean that's a boy?"), everything he wears is leaning way too much toward realism with too much details when compared to NPCs and buildings - like my son said, truly as if there were two main artists who didn't talk much to each other, so game ends up with visual dissonance in lot of areas.

Personally I think it's more that the characters are crafted to look faithful to their N64 designs, which were themselves the result of that console's limitations in terms of geometry, so you get a lot of really stylised characters that look neither "real" nor like a modern cartoony game.

I'm fine with this myself, as it helps the game feel nostalgic yet modern.
